      Pomegranates good for dreaming?

I have recently picked up a couple of pomegranates and wanted to know if they would have any affect. I have heard that any antioxidant would help, and pomegranates have tons of vitamin C. Do you think it would work? Also, is orange juice good?

      I love pomegranates!

Although, I'm not sure if they will help. Where have you heard that antioxidants help?

      I love pomegranates too!

I haven't heard any of that... I don't think Orange juice would have a negative effect, but I doubt it has much of a positive effect.
      Bollocks.

I'm just now finishing up a month-long experiment where I've been consuming 7 ounces of orange juice one to one-half hour before going to bed. I've found my dream recall to be significantly improved. In October (without OJ) I remembered my dreams on 11 nights, and in November (with OJ) I had recall on 23 nights. I kept my sleep schedules and food consumption the same during the two months other than the OJ.

It seems to have no effect on the actual clarity of the dreams, awareness, or anything other than being able to remember them upon waking. It's also not a shortcut to ignoring "best practices" for dream recall... you should still wake up without a noisy alarm, remain still, and keep a journal.

Indeed, I would like to see how other people fare with this approach. I tried to be as scientific as practical about it, but I cannot discount the possibility that there were other relevant factors besides the orange juice. Still, considering my dream recall had not improved at all from mid-August through October, and within 48 hours of starting the OJ regimen I saw a huge jump in both the frequency and quantity of what I was remembering... this has lead me to believe there's more at work here than just placebo or natural improvement of my abilities.

Now, the next phase will be stopping use of OJ entirely and seeing if there is any atrophy in my recall. To be truthful, I'm reluctant to do that. I'm enjoying remembering all my wacky dreams too much!

I think it was another post here. Plus, I had a really vivid dream one night after having tons of antioxidants. That night, the dream was included in my dream journal. If you care to read it, it's in my signature.
