Yeah, caffeine can stimulate your brain and make it more aware. Also works with chocolate and other caffeine-rich foods/drinks.
well i just had a pack of minstrels, ill have some iron bru now (for scientific reasons of course lol) ill report back in the morning.
no it didnt work but ill try again, but its coke this time not irn bru
I've never had much luck myself with eating/drinking different things to help LDing, but I've got to say if it works for you then I'll be really jealous. 12 pack of coke every 12 days for nightly lucid dreaming? Ohh yeah!
I haven't tried that yet, but I've experienced a good amount of success improving my dream recall by drinking orange juice right before bed.
Id say coincidence last night i drank a coke before bed just because i was thirsty. And i didnt even remember dreaming about squat. But this is new to me coke b4 bed may give you lucid dream's.Tried coffee b4 bed once that was a bad idea:P
i tryed again last night and i cant remember any dreams so i dont know if it worked or not. diffirent things work for diferent people and i doubt this will work for me anyway
does diet coke help too?
dont likeee the calories :/
wtf? i drank coke yesterday and had a LD today soo i think it works
Indeed, I'd actually like to change my statement above, since I recently watched this

Its a pretty in depth discussion of LDS (Lucid dream supplements) The source seems pretty credible, though he isn't the most engaging speaker. There are four parts and I forget which one it is in, but he does say that caffeine and nicotine are thought to increase your chances of dream recall and/or lucidity. There is also a very interesting discussion on the timing of taking LDS, and how you can mix and match to fit your own goals.
Personally, I don't take them, but at the very least it is an interesting watch. The same guy does a series on his critique and modifications of the Nova Dreamer(r) from the Lucidity Institute...interesting stuff.
My first LD happened after I drank the rest of my movie theater coke at home.
So yes, I would say that Coke is a good thing to drink before sleeping.
Oooh. Coke and Apple juice.. Hm....
Wouldn't the caffine high be out of your system by the time you hit your first REM period?
Foods/Drinks/Herbs containing Cholinergic and Dopaminergic substances are probably more likely to enhance the vividness and clearity(level of awareness) in one's Dreams.
There are many supplements a person can take to improve their chances of having a lucid dream, from Coke, to Vitamin B, to Galantamine, GABA, Alpha-GPC, Ginsing, Royal Jelly, Green Tea Extract, etc, but the time a person any of these supplements is just as important as the supplement they take.
I would suggest taking these supplements after you have had a little bit of sleep instead of at bedtime, because taking them at bedtime is likely to keep you awake for hours, and miss out on your sleep.
By taking them after you have had some sleep, and are still groggy, you can get back to sleep a lot easier, and then become lucid in your dreams when the supplements kick in.
And if you have a difficult time getting to sleep after taking one of these supplements, a little bit of L_Theanine can work wonders, as it not only helps in relaxing, but also helps produce alpha brain waves, and creates a state of deep relaxation and mental alertness similar to what can be achieved through meditation.
Indeed, and in addition, many of the supplements talked about have rather short periods of time before peaking in your bloodstream. Take a look at the video I posted above to find out, because I forget, but there are only two major supplements that work better taken at bedtime, rather than 4 hours into sleep. Taking them a few hours after you go to bed will make sure they are peaking during your longer REM cycles, so yet another reason to take them later.
yeah..i had dr.pepper before sleep and
well, i dont know what i dreamnt last night..lol
NO!!!!
NOTHING WITH ASPARTAME!!!
sorry for caps, but aspartame is a neurotoxin. neurotoxin!
please, no sodas before bed, ok?
Scary much?
Sorry, I just don't want to let you poison yourself now that I know about this.Quote:
Once aspartame is ingested the methanol is released and converted to formaldehyde and then formic acid. Numerous tests show methanol breaks down into formaldahyde in vivo in laboratory rats. Formaldehyde is a deadly neurotoxin, is a known carcinogen, causes retinal damage, interferes with DNA replication and causes birth defects. In natural foods such as fruit and alcoholic beverages methanol is always found together with ethanol which neutralizes the toxicity.
...
You should be aware aspartame is a neurotoxin and an excitotoxin. Which is to say it will 'excite' neural cell activity to the point where brain cells will self destruct and you may experience memory loss, anxiety, dementia and even blindness.
Also, the anxiety might give you a fake sense of SP and make you lose a WILD.
NO MORE ASPARTAME
