Some people believe that our bodies produce DMT and that is what causes us to dream in the first place. I believe that this is probably true. I can sometimes lucid sleep, remain consious during sleep, (for a while). This is probably the result of several years of meditation. Anyway you are not always dreaming during sleep. Many people know this of course, but my point is what makes you dream. I can be consious during sleep, listen to myself sleep, and wish for a dream, but many times it doesn't happen because I am not in the dream stages of sleep. Something must happen which causes a sensory "hallucination"? right. I believe DMT paralysis you while it is taking effect and you are also paralysed during REM sleep. Your body is also capable of converting tryptophan or serotonin into DMT. It is basically just theoretical but it makes sense. Perhaps the more DMT the more vivid and crazy the dream. I suggest reading the book DMT, The Spirit Molecule.
