      Melatonin? D=

I only realized a couple of moments ago that the sleeping pills my mother bought me some months ago to get to bed earlier are melatonin strips.
I never used them, because on the box it said something like do not take if you have certain neurological problems blah blah, and the thing is I have some problems that doctors can't seem to figure out >:/ So I didn't want to chance it.

Now however, knowing that I can use these to induce lucid dreaming, I'm more inclined to figure out if it can be dangerous or not.

Does anyone know if there are any dangers of melatonin other than the ones stated in the repository? The neurological problems I've been having are many but the main features are headaches, pressure in my head, and more-than occasional-numb twinges in the arms & hands. Also some virtigo D=
&, I have had pain in my neck/head after a 10 minute WILD before so...

Anyhow, if I take melatonin strips before bed is there anything else I should know to help me LD better on it or anything I should do before or after taking it? (I mean, besides going to sleep haha)

Mhm, I would have to suggest talking to a doctor.

If I take it,(2.5mg per strip) how long am I likely to sleep for?

Also, what does this mean ----

      Dreaming

Some supplemental melatonin users report an increase in vivid dreaming. Extremely high doses of melatonin (50 mg) dramatically increased REM sleep time and dream activity in both narcoleptics and those without narcolepsy.[42] Many psychoactive drugs, such as cannabis and lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), increase melatonin synthesis.[42] It has been suggested that nonpolar (lipid-soluble) indolic hallucinogenic drugs emulate melatonin activity in the awakened state and that both act on the same areas of the brain.[42] It has been suggested that psychotropic drugs be readmitted in the field of scientific inquiry and therapy.[43] If so, melatonin may be prioritized for research in this reemerging field of psychiatry.[44]

I get most of it except that I don't know if increased melatonin synthesis is a good thing in the body. So, if I smoke weed and take melatonin, am I more likely to dream vividly? Or is it by chance a negative thing.
