      Another Rem Dreamer Pro Topic

I haven't posted with this account before but i read the forums alot. I noticed quite a few threads about the rem dreamer. I purchased one myself and it arrived a week later. Last night was my first night with it. I was feeling rather down in the weather with a headache and a stuffy nose, so wearing the mask was odd. Not uncomfortable, i slept fine with it, just different. I had the sensitivity set to 4 and went to sleep with an initial 30 minute delay. I woke up every time the cues went off all night.Even with all the waking up, it wasn't a bad sleep, I was still well rested.

I would blame my lack of knowledge of the working of the device for the poor night( i didnt read the manual much.... typical guy, i know ;P). I plan to try again tonight and post the results tomorrow. I did remember quite a few dreams though. I can remember several times when i was dreaming and the lights went off and i woke up. Wasn't even aware i was dreaming till the lights went off, i realised what it could be, and woke up. It seems to work so far. I just need to get better at the darn thing.

I have had mine not quite a week now.

It took a while to get the strap right - too tight and it gave me a headache - too loose and it just falls off in the night.

I would suggest turning all the settings down - and then increasing them each night. My first few nights were like yours - the cues would just wake me up. I used the software to turn everything down - and then found that the next few nights the REM Dreamer had triggered 3-6 series of cues which I had slept through. I have found that I only need the sensitivity on 2 - anything higher and it goes off all the time.

I have also noticed that during the week when I am tired after work and only get 4-5 hours sleep that I need to turn the brightness of the cues WAY up - but at the weekend when I can sleep in (and normally get some lucids) then I have to turn the settings down.

Trial and error - keep playing.

If the cues do wake you up then keep your eyes closed and use the cues to train your prospective memory, eg repeat in your mind "whenever I see these red flashing lights then I will know I am dreaming"

The word of sin is restriction - Thou hast no right but to do what thy will.

I didn't post the previous nights because of work but ill go ahead and post the past 2 nights with the device.

During my second night with the rem dreamer, I slept normally with the device (meaning like a rock). I do recall waking up once at midnight then falling asleep again. When i woke up in the morning, the device was on the dresser next to my bed. I guess i had taken it off and didnt remember O.o.

Last night was quite similar. Like you said evildoctor, i am trying to get used to the strap. I read the manual where it reccomended to check to see how many cues went off and adjust till it's 20. The first night I never checked. The second night was only one cue but i assume thats because i took it off >.>.
Last night I had 2 cues at sensitivity 4. Im going to change it to 6 tonight and try to see if that helps.

I'll keep logging my results with this as i go.
