Vitamin B6, yea or nay? So many opinions..

I got myself some vitamin b6 yesterday, and I figured any questions I have about how often to use it would be answered on the forums so I wouldn't need to ask. However, this isn't how it worked out at all.

There was PLENTY of people asking, but so many mixed opinions. Some people said daily, when you wake up in the middle of the night. Others said twice a week max or it will cause nerve damage?? So, what is it? Thanks.

It depends on how much there is in your pills.
I had pills from Numark, I used to take one just before sleeping, every night, and it did give me very vivid dreams and good dream recall. Unfortunately I've lost the part of the label that states the dosage, but as far as I recall it was pretty high, and I was just fine.
The "tolerable upper intake levels" for B6 are 100 mg/day for an adult (while the recommended dose is 1.3 mg), so you can hardly overdose. I don't think any pills available on the market are over 100 mg.

Edit: From the other wiki: Sensory neuropathy typically develops at doses of pyridoxine in excess of 1,000 mg per day. However, there have been a few case reports of individuals who developed sensory neuropathies at doses of less than 500 mg daily over a period of months.
Over the counter vitamins should be safe.

It's just vitamins, what could go wrong? People take vitamin C or magnesium without blinking...
And remember that this one doesn't make you lucid in itself. It just makes your dreams so much cooler

B6 doesn't make you have Lucid Dreams. It helps with recall.

Ex, I was like you when I first got some B6. I'm pretty sure the ones I bought were 100mg, but to be safe, I took half a pill every other night. I've stopped taking them, but I might start up again as my recall has been a little fleeting as of late.

Test out what you think may work for you. The half a pill every other day routine worked well for me, so that may be a regimen for you to consider trying. If you're still unsure, there's always asking a local pharmacist or going to the website of the company who produced the B6 you bought.

As to the comment about going to far buying vitamins to LD, I was at the store buying other stuff and I hit the vitamin section and got a bottle for 3 dollars, not like I went out of my way.

They are 100 mg, I'll try taking em every other day and see how that goes.

Tell me how it goes for you, I might consider it also.

Update, I've been taking it every other night. For my recall, the nights that I take it with my meals seem to yield better results than just taking it when I lie down to sleep.

Overall, I seem to recall at least some fragment of a dream, most of the time I can write a small paragraphs worth, which is good.

I'll try taking it when I wake up to WILD and post again.

These vitamins come from somewhere. So my question is: From what type of food do you get it?

I actually picked up some vitamins the other day at wal mart and got OneSource Teen Multi.. it has all the vitamins needed for growth and has B3, B6, and B12. I'd check it out if you are a teen.

      From a health site,
Excellent sources of vitamin B6 include spinach, bell peppers, and turnip greens.

Very good food sources of vitamin B6 include garlic, tuna, cauliflower, mustard greens, banana, celery, cabbage, crimini mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli, kale, collard greens, Brussels sprouts, cod and chard.
It is also found in cheese, good thing I'm from Wisconsin

I tried B6 last night and it definitely worked. i tried it the night before-2 capsules-10mg in each capsule and it didn't work. Then last night I tried 2 again before bed with a big block of cheese and went to sleep. I woke-up after an hour or two which is very unusual for me and I'd had a very vivid dream where I was either slightly lucid, or on the verge of being lucid. I definitely know it was the B6 because I very rarely have vivid dreams like that in the middle of the night.

Only problem is I have trouble remembering the details of it now-just the general outline, even though I know it was very vivid and long at the time.

So I would definitely recommend B6! (with cheese or something like that for the Tryptophan (sp?))
