deild timer
hi all, a few nights ago i made an mp3 which i am experimenting in conjunction with the deild technique. basically it is five hours of silence followed by six beeps in a row, then another hour of silence followed by six more beeps, then the same thing a third time. i have used the timer three nights in a row and it works, but the problem is that the alarm scares me in my sleep and makes me very tense. i wake up and am able to lay perfectly still, but my heart is beating and i get a bit of adrenaline, so it is impossible to drift straight back to sleep. i tried turning down the volume last night and didn't ever hear the timer during the night. basically what i'm wondering is if anybody has tried anything like this before and if so what noise do you use for an alarm? i'm wondering if a short bit of music would be good or something. any ideas?

Hi eric k,
I basically tried the same thing using a "coo-coo" sound. But what I did to aid me further was to record instructions: After the alarm plays for 7secs, a voice plays and says "don't move" and so on.
My problem: I only wake up on the first ring...

Auditory senses are very dormant even in REm stage. So I think you'd need something with more DBs to get into the dream.
