Very Short Lucid Dream
My first lucid, yay!
Oh, wait, it wasn't very long.
So in my dream I was talking to a scary skeleton guy (..?) and I said to him "Well at first I thought I was dreaming because you're a skeleton! But now I know it's real..." then he gave me a funny look and I thought for a little while. "See? I am awake!" I said as I pinched myself. Then I felt nothing. I started freaking out like, "I'm lucid dreaming! I'm lucid dreaming! I'm lucid dreaming!" Then I got so excited, and I started to lose my senses....
I tried spinning or rubbing my hands together, but I sorta..couldn't. It's like I knew I was dreaming but I had NO CONTROL over what I was doing...?
Any help with this?

First of all, congratulations. Unfortunately it's fairly common for people to wake up very quickly after becoming lucid for the first time (or first few times). Next time you become lucid, you need to make an effort to calm yourself down and focus every bit of your attention on observing the dreamscape around you in a detached way. As for not being quite able to rub your hands together or spin, I suspect that this was simply because you were waking up too quickly.

Thanks. I'll try to be more calm next time..
I think another reason was the skeleton guy started scaring me after I realized I was dreaming. :panic:

Yeah, just be calmer next time. Also, it was probably a low level of lucidity or the dream had fallen apart too much to regurgitate it.

If I read some lucid dreaming topics on this site before sleeping, will it help my chances of becoming lucid tonight?
-
Probably. I think having lucid dreaming on the brain while you fall asleep definitely increases your chances of getting lucid, and reading topics from this site is a good way to prime that.

Thanks for all your help!
I am going to sleep now, hopefully to a lucid dream. :offtobed:

Good luck on your next LD's, don't get over-excited the other times u do it :)

I just woke up, and I'm kind of confused and a little bit mad at myself for not noticing the dreamsign.
In my first dream, the whole time I knew I was dreaming, but the dream wasn't very vivid and I had no control over what I was doing. I didn't even think about the fact I was lucid. It was just a dream that I knew I was in. It was slightly nightmarish, so in the end I squeezed my eyes shut and opened them again, and I woke myself up. So I was awake, and five seconds later I fell asleep.
My second dream started with a false awakening. I started walking towards the stairs. I saw my dad and I told him about the dream I had "last night" (false awakening.). Then I did a reality check by pinching myself, and....I felt pain...? So this had to be real?
I guess that's my last time for the pinching RC.
