Varying vividness
My lucid dreams have been getting more consistent, but I have noticed that the degree of vividness seems to vary quite a bit. I have had a few moments in LDs where things have that hyperreal quality, but I have had others that are more like the quality if my normal dreams, and a few that are pretty fuzzy in my memory.
Is this just the nature of dreams or do I need to work more on clarity techniques to get the more vivid dreams?
It seems like the more vivid moments are when I get swept away in the scenery and the less vivid ones are when I am involved in a task or plot. For example, last night I spent a pretty long series of dreams trying to accomplish the task of the month, and for the first time when I awoke I felt like there were big pieces of it I had forgotten. Was I just too focused on the task?

Yes, that is normal. Imagine me, most of the time it is like walking around without my glasses.
However, explore the issue of perceptual quality. You will learn that it can be perfect. Then you must ask, why would it be degraded?
