first post. is there anyway to not experience SP
well hello everyone, im glad i found people who dream lucidly like I. about a year ago is when i started dreaming lucidly frequently (3+ times a week) at first it was the greatest thing i had ever experienced. i never needed an alarm clock. i had lots of control during my dreams. i woke myself up whenever i wanted by physically closing and opening my eyes in my dream as hard as i could. then i would wake up.
about a month after i started LDing, i did it everytime i slept, i would take naps during the day to have more LDs. blabla bla about 2 months go by and i had my first SP. some may doubt it, but i know for sure it was sleep paralysis. i could do nothing but look around and think. my body was totally locked. i felt complete and utter hopelessness. i thought i was comatose. easily one of the scariest experiences of my life. i kept experiencing SP, sometimes everything would go white and blank, sometimes i would look around my room as i lay in bed helpless. once my dad tried to wake me, i could hear him but do nothing but lay still. i thought it was just my dream but i asked him later that day and i repeated everything he told me while i was in SP. needless to say i HATE SP.
for about 3-4 months i experienced SP everytime i dreamed. i had several false awakenings but not many. after that i just tried to avoid dreaming, smoking green before sleeping, drinking, staying up for long periods of time to fall asleep quickly without thought.
now i rarely LD, but when i do i experience SP everytime. Is There Anyway to avoid it? i have tried to calm myself when i do experience it but it doesnt work.
