      Almost dreaming

Yesterday I went to bed and I was very tired. I was thinking of myself riding on a bike, downhill. suddenly my thoughts went into dream-state, because the road I was driving on automatically changed into a sandy road and everything went like a normal dream. I realised that and I changed the sandy road into asphalt! So when I want to have a lucid dream, do I have to stay concious in this state??? I tried the HILD method but it keeps me awake...
the perfect thing is realizing that jabbering on about what the perfect thing is, is the perfect thing

All lucidity is the ability to know you are dreaming. Once you officially know you are dreaming you are lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming can only be achieved by dreaming because if you aren't in a dreaming state you can't have a dream. I think what you also meant was WILD. I don't think there is a HILD.
