2 lucid dreams in one night - what did i do wrong?

This is my first post, I've been a lurker for a while on the forums but now I've decided to make an account.
I'll give you all a bit of background so you know where i'm at. I've probably had about 6-7 lucid dreams in my life right now (that I can remember). And yeah i keep a dream journal and all that, decided to get into dreaming about 2-3 years ago.

OKAY SO...
About 2 days ago, I had 2 lucid dreams in the one night (occured around 3am to 5am, somewhere in there).

The first one, I was inside my room and I looked at my circular desk and I noticed I had two copies of my current mobile phone (that i have in real life) there. I straight away went "lol, dead giveaway this is a dream". But I remembered reading on the forums to not be overly excited, and so I can honestly say I wasn't that excited (as i use to be from the past). The first thing I did was stablise the dream, I was on the carpet, crawling, i felt the carpet texture, then i put my hand on my computer chair trying to feel it. Whilst i was doing this i noticed the dream had some screwed up colors, like red/blue and green. Also it was dim at night in my dream. And then BAM i woke up. I dont get why i woke up? I was stabilising the dream right? So what did i do wrong?

Also some of you might ask about the colors bit that I mentioned, well think of when you were little and in your parents car, sleeping on a sunny day. When you wake up, all you see is blue stuff. Like everything you look at appears blue etc. In my dream, stuff appeared red/blue and green lol.

Okay now my second lucid happened shortly after (maybe 1 hour after?). I was in a dream and decided "hey lets just reality check, caus i could be in a dream and i woudln't even know it lol". So I did my "T-test". Its where i put my hands in a T formation, and if my fingers go through my hand then surely i'm dreaming. And bam, i saw 3 fingers go through. I was like "yup im in a dream". Then it lasted for like what 2-3 seconds? Then bam i'm back in bed again. I mean wtf?
OH and also, both lucid dreams weren't as vividly clear as the one's i've had in my past. But i know i was lucid.

What am I doing wrong? Was it beacuse i was too tired? I slept at like 10:30PM that night.

It sounds like you are doing something right. Lucid twice in one night is nothing to complain about. Don't worry too much about the dream ending prematurely. Maybe you were just nearing the end of your dream. Sometimes it is easier to notice inconsistencies and become lucid as the dream is nearing it's end. You can normally tell if you woke prematurely by how you feel. If you wake to a false awakening, or feel incredibly groggy (impossibly groggy!), there is a good chance you have interrupted your dream. If you feel awake and alert, you are probably at a natural break in your sleeping cycle.

Either way, it is normally possible to reenter the dream. Don't move, keep your eyes closed, and think about what you were just doing. You will either reenter the lucid dream, or black out and forget the dream ever happened. Risky, but worth it if it was a short crappy dream, anyways.

I guess that does clear some things up for me and puts me more into a positive light :)
I also forgot to mention that, when I woke up from the lucid it was only for maybe 2-3 seconds and then I just fell back to sleep and had another dream (not lucid), it was only then after this dream had ended did I realize that "Oh yeah crap, I became lucid in a dream BEFORE the one I just had now".

And also, when you first enter a lucid dream, what stabilizing techniques do you use? Which are the most effective?
In the past, in one lucid dream, the dream was collapsing and i was losing clarity fast, so i spun around in circles (because I remember this suggestion from somebody on the forum), but instead doing that just made my dream become even more blurrier and "mixed" i.e. the piano that was in my living room had blended colors with the windows and it was like mixing as many colors as possible into the view. Then I fell to the ground in that dream and ended up entering a "new" dream, that I thought was real life.

So far I think the best one is to just feel my dream environment and walk SLOWLY through it. I've only tried this once in the lucid dream I described earlier, so I guess I still don't know whats the most effective. But to me, it seems like the most effective, because the aim is to get as many senses going right so that your mind can focus on the dream world and keep the environment stable?
Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm super eager to learn more about stabilizing lol :):)
Because the fact that my friends can hold lucid dreams for 45 minutes just makes me so dam JEALOUS !!!! GRRR :D
