Few experiences, but keep getting lost in the dream plot....

So my very first LD was a few months ago, and I became lucid because a character from a TV show recited a line that I remembered was from the show and I became lucid. As soon as I realized that, everything around me became blurry and I couldn’t stabilize the dream.

Second LD was a few weeks after that, I don’t even know how I became lucid. I was in a parking lot and just knew I was dreaming. I wasn’t able to do what I wanted because I think I just went along with the story of that dream.

Third LD was a few weeks ago, I was in a bathroom stall and some huge guy from the next stall reached over and picked me up choking my neck. I instantly knew I was dreaming and was able to “rewind” the dream so when I came into the stall again, as soon as the guy tried to choke me, I put a knife through his head….lol. From then on, I think I just continued with the story of the dream….but I was still lucid. I was on a hunt to kill these bad guys and was summoning guns and knives I needed to kill them. But again, I think I got lost in the dream by continuing the story of the dream.

Fourth LD was last night, I was able to get away from some people robbing a store. But later on they caught up to me and I knew they were a threat…so I became lucid. They had swords so I was able to summon a sword and got into a cool battle with them….chopping some of their heads off lol. Then I continued on with the story of the dream while being lucid and remembering I should do my own thing. As I was in an empty room thinking of what to do, the dream started breaking up. I rubbed my hands, started spinning around, but nothing. Dream just broke up.

I didn’t use any techniques for these, I think they are just DILD. Also no reality checks.

I think I learned that when Im threatened I become aware it’s a dream….and I like to kill people? Lol j/k….

My question is, how do I stop from being caught up in the story of the dream? I feel like as soon as I stop, the dream will de-stabilize and I wont be able to get it back.
