Have anyone met god yet, and if yes, what was it like?
Was he a large blinding light, or an old man with long white beard, how did he behave, did he talk and so on.

I will make this short OK.
God does not exist!
Wow what a ridiculously idiotic reply >face palm< That was not at all what the OP was asking! Zombies dont exist either but I killed a mess of them last night in my dreams ;) We get it you have beliefs and firmly believe in them (nothing at all wrong with that) but try and refrain from shoving them down everyone else's throat plzQuote:

DOOM
Okay, then let me rephrase that, for you to understand frederom:
Have anyone met a divine allknowing being, much like the christian god? If yes, what was it like, what did it look like? Was it a large blinding holy light as the god is often described or so?
this thread is so pointless... why would you even want to know about this ?
people see what they want to see and they believe what they want to believe...
let me tell you the answer: some did see a holy blinding light and some saw something else!
But why would you care? you can't know if it's true.
The real question you got to ask your self is does divine allknowing being exist or not ?
I believe in God and know he exists and will deny him no more.
I saw Him in a dream and he looked just like Jesus, white robe, pale, dark brown hair. Just like you see in the paintings but maybe a little different. He didn't smile, much althought what does he have to smile about? Look at the world. Anyway I am not here to argue whether he exists or not - you can't change my belief.
I asked Him hundreds of questions, but then He had to leave. I asked him my final question, "Do you love me?" He turned slightly and said, "More than you know." He left and I saw myself alone with the terror around me, (It was the end of the world in the dream.) I looked hopeless when he left, and I woke up.
Freedom if you don't want to talk about seeing God how bout you stop trolling this thread. Everyone else here seems to understand his simple question, you do not.
I agree with frederom in that, I think the maker of this thread intended 'God' as in 'the real God that exists and appears in a dream,' not 'a God DC that your mind made up'. To me, at least, the post seemed to be assuming that God exists and asking if you've met him in a dream. So, frederom's original reply that God doesn't exist, pointing out that he doesn't accept the assumption being made, was sensible.
As for the rest of the argument, I have opinions but don't want to get into that. I don't think there's a point and find it a bit rude to put people down insultingly, especially when they've made it clear they aren't interested in argument, but I don't respect the choice many people make to ignore reason and evidence because they prefer believing in something that has little of either to back it up. I honestly don't want to say anything else, I hesitate to even write this, because I don't want anyone getting a vague enemy feeling whenever they see my screenname... not on this site.
It's odd that, even when I was a theist, I don't remember having any dreams involving God.
(Strange, I started typing a post a few hours ago and mistakenly called him Freedom too first before looking closely at his name.)
The question remains the same. Have you seen God in your dreams. He didn't ask if you believed, and for all we know he doesn't believe. But everywhere in every persons mind they have thought about God whether it was asking himself if he was real or not. And by doing so have you ever met this God in person because you had thought about him.
This very site is based off a plane of existence that we aren't even sure exists.
You don't have to believe in god to dream about him/her. Dreams are manifestations of the mind. I don't believe in santa but I have had a dream about him. Doesn't mean I ad to believe in him to dream of him.
I have had a dream with an Egyptian Goddess in it with snakes coiled around her wrists and she was holding an ankh. She was very alien like. I have had a dream with Pan in it and he was a very Earthy animal human god. I have had a dream with the Tibetan Green Tara in it and the Tibetan Vajrasatva in it. They were made of light and wisdom. I have had a dream with Hermes in it but he was a dog who became hermes. I have had a dream with Thor in it and he was like a huge drunk biker but also not drunk (paradox, I know). I saw Jesus in a dream also. He was very cool. He was very sincere and loving. Funny though, he wasn't pale, he was dark with a big nose. His robe was bright white and glowed with light. His eyes were greenish amber brown. He was sincere, yet light-hearted and happy, even though he only had a small smile. He seemed like his attention was stable yet divided, like he was looking through me at something else beautiful beyond me. Powerful. I have seen many angels in dreams, or angelic beings. They were mostly white light streamers in the shape of humans without facial features. They were telepathic and outwardly silent.
What makes a lot of these dreams powerful for me was the effect they had on me. In the dream I usually felt like I was vibrating at a high frequency. Upon waking I was usually very calm, joyful, and high for a week or two.
This post is not about my beliefs, it is just an answer to the question.
I hope Klikko wasn't looking for god answer in this thread but just curious about what people have seen.
I believe that everyone should find there answers within them ! not from someone else.
just maybe the op has meet god, and wants to compare experiences, frederom why does it worry you so?
there are 2 truths on this planet, the truths of the world' that you learn while living here, and then there is inner truth...
i have done a few experiments with god, but i can never recall god/his features or anything matter of fact not much at all, but i am filled with instructions sometimes, that i carry out within lucid dreams... do i believe im really doing gods will within lucid dreams? i dunno but i would like to
Thanks, those of you who have answered the question.
Because the godly divine beings are special and mysterious, and I would like to know how the mind chooses to display them.Quote:
"why would you even wanna know this ?
at frederum I don't believe in god, I believe in science :) I believe in the morals in the bible, about respecting each other. I believe in the morals of keeping peace, and in the morals of working together to evolve our skills, I do not believe in higher divine beings. The possibility of further evolved aliens is there, but not as an immortal god.
Klikko is right, this is interesting. Im an atheist and I think I wanna see if I can meet "God". Wonder what my subconscious would spit out...
I've met god before, he's really stupid. http://sae.tweek.us/static/images/em...ot-twisted.gif
Seems to be a great many assholes posting in this thread. Since I don't take every opportunity I have to put down somebody else's beliefs and try to show how intelligent I am, I'll be answering the question.
No, I've never experienced God in a dream. I've wanted to and thought about it, but I guess the concept wouldn't align with my believes. It's hard as an atheist to have a dream about God, since the idea in our minds is that there's no such thing. I can see how you could dream about a deity if you are a believer though. I mean, even though I'm not a theist, I could still have a dream about God. It's just much less likely to happen, especially when I'm not lucid. I wouldn't really know how to show "God" though. I can't imagine him as being anything human.
When I think about god (or the idea of god) I imagine either an old bearded man, or a lot of light. Or possibly a wierd monkey creature from South Park. Seems not many have actually met god in their LD's
It doesn't matter if he exists, or what he or it is. God is a concept that humans use, therefore you can decide to manifest this in a dream and you will see some kind of image you associate with it.
I've always liked the idea that God is our subconscious, an unknown source of information and intuition(not that I believe this literally, obviously, I don't worship my subconscious every sunday). I've never done it but it's probably cool as hell to meet God in a dream, it could be a way to directly interact with your subconscious.
exactly....in fact the only important spiritual wisdom/information is in the new testament.
All religions and spirituality say the same exact thing. It's not that hard to figure out if you've read any spiritual scriptures.
As for the OP, I did experience what "I" understand God to be in a dream one time. Which is an infinite energy that connects everything.
