Idea for personal lucid task thread

I thought it might be fun to have a thread where people are able to come up with a personal lucid challenge and track their progress. It would be a bit like the Task of the Month thread, but people could make up their own tasks and there would be no time limit. One would just state what their current goal is and then report back once they had accomplished it with a description of the dream. There obviously wouldn't be any badges, but there might be a way to keep track of goals accomplished.*

I think having one set goal at a time is a great way to become lucid and develop better dream control. The Personal Task Thread would be fun for those who have already done the task of the month or the year or those that are just not interested in it.*

So, I'm thinking it would work like this:

1. The member states clearly what task they are looking to do
2. They report back with a description of the dreams where they attempted the task or accomplished it to their liking
3. They come up with another task

Members could even decide to try the same tasks as others if they find one interesting.*

Tell me what you all think of this and if there are any other ideas on how it should work. Hopefully we can get a Personal Tasks Thread up and running.*

Awesome thread! There is a goal that I really want to do. I really want to go to space and just be free floating and listen to the song "dayven cowboy" by Boards of Canada. I have been able to free float in space but not yet can I listen to that song. I know I can do it though, I have listened to that song thousands of times.

I just want to be clear to everyone. This thread is not the Personal Tasks Thread, it is for discussing the possibility of having one. I just wanted to get the idea out and see if there is interest or input on how to run the thread. After getting some more positive responses, I would like to start the "official" thread.

I'm sorry, I must not of read very clearly but anyways, I hope that tells you some people might like that kind of thread... haha

I agree that it's a good idea, it'll help beginners such as myself be motivated more social and open about our dreams.

Good idea. I think a lot of people would come in post a list of tasks and then come back an list more things they want to do in a lucid and then add more stuff every time they think of something. Maybe you should limit to one task per person at a time. That might help keep people focused and motivated on a specific task and keep the thread from becoming just another list of lucid ideas.

I like the idea. I have an idea that I can't suggest until I accomplish the TOTM I think it is. Too bad; it is an awesome idea.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I plan to start up the thread tomorrow. Then we can have the weekend to start working on tasks! I think this could be very interesting.
