Hey guys, just joined and I'm going to try to record as many nights as possible on the road to lucidity. Hopefully this thread will show my journey from a Newbie to a pretty good Lucid Dreamer. This is for myself and anyone that cares to read. I'll also be posting in my online Dream Journal and a hard copy here at my home.
Dream dates will be recorded as the night I had the dream.

This morning I had really really really shitty dream recall. However I did try to wake up at the end of an REM cycle to do a WILD or something. I set my alarm for 6 am (about six hours after I went to sleep) but I didn't really realize my alarm was ringing until 6:30ish. One thing I do remember with dream recall is wondering what the hell that annoying sound was in the background of my dream before I woke up at 6:30 :P.
Anyway, I'm not going to try out the WBTB thing tonight. For the time being I'm just going to work on dream recall.
Same for me, I'm hoping for some Collector killing, galaxy saving action. :P
For beginners, WILD and WBTB might be difficult, have you tried using MILD or DILD?

I got into lucid dreaming in January, decided to work on my dream recall first thing too, It's the best thing to do on the first step. By keeping DJ, doing reality checks and few WBTB's I got 7 LD's so far. Now my recall sucks in all directions, so I'm working on it again...

I've just now started but I have been doing some of the "I will LD soon" mantras for MILDs. Also I'm starting some RCs tomorrow for DILDs. Mainly I'm just working on my recall and WILDS seem to be the kind of thing that I can attempt while my mind is being conditioned to question REALITY haha.Quote:

No I'm not at the moment. I had shitty dream recall again today. I think I'm going to wake up like, 15 minutes early every morning to write down everything before I start my daily routine.

Pretty long dream last night (or series of dreams).
First I can remember wanting to take a road trip to Austin with my mom and sister. We took two separate cars and I was in the lead car. I was driving pretty fast and I'm pretty sure they got lost. I got on a highway that was in a valley and started weaving in and out of traffic. There was an area on the highway where I was supposed to keep left to avoid an exit (which was 4 lanes wide) but I ended up staying left and exited into this huge building with an underground garage. I wanted to find the route back to the highway but it was blocked off by some big metal doors so I spent the night in the building which turned out to be a hotel.
My sister and mom's car caught up with me pretty soon after, and I overheard my sister asking if some friends could come over to the hotel. My mom said no, my sister got mad, then my mom vanished and my sister thought that was pretty convenient so she invited her friends anyway. The hotel room we were staying at was very large except the bathroom, which had a shower that had a faucet about half the height it was supposed to be at and shower walls about as high as the waist. The walls of the hotel room were about three feet high but there was no ceiling, so pretty much there was just a black void where the ceiling should be. I could see outside of our hotel room and it seemed like we were just floating in this void.
I was in the shower when my sister's friends came (about three of them) and since the shower walls were waist high and the room walls weren't much higher, they could see I was in the shower. I said 'Hi' and they said they wanted a shower too. My sister told us about a locker room down the hall with showers and walls that were actually the right size, so we went through a doorframe and the void turned into a hallway with a yellowish glow in the lighting. We went into the locker rooms and the three friends got into the showers which only had a shower curtain. I got into a shower as well.
After a few minutes they started calling my name so I looked out and their shower curtains were open. I told them to close the curtains because, quote, "I was tired of [their] fucking bullshit" but they ignored me and started to climb on top of each other (literally, one person would stand on the others shoulders so there). I had no idea what to do so I just walked out of the shower into my hotel room and woke up from the dream.
Pretty weird but pretty vivid.

I had a False Awakening last night. All I can remember before the FA was that I was in a car, looking through the window of another car directly at a woman. I said to her (like I knew it the whole dream), "I am really dreaming."
I felt a surge of excitement and had my FA, except I was lying on my stomach with my feet at the headboard where my head was supposed to be. I didn't realize I was in a dream. My body jumped up because of the excitement but I thought I should try to do a DEILD by laying down and thinking of the dream again. It didn't work. I went to another dream (which I can't recall well, something about a three story mall) and slept the rest of the night.
I have a tendency to sleepwalk, so maybe it really wasn't a false awakening and I did change my position during the night.

Three different dreams last night, but I can really only remember fragments of them.
In the first dream, I was trying to make a song on my computer with a friend but we couldn't find our MIDI / we'd lose our focus pretty quickly. A lot of time was spent in a car.
The second dream confused the shit out of me. Like, I can't even explain what happened. There were explosions, some one mentoring me on gaining extra body parts, and trying to increase the area of an underwater area by spinning around with my arms extended. There was this one part where I dreamt that my room used to be 10x smaller than it really it and that it's current size was the result of me exploding out some walls.
The third dream was pretty much a montage of me running through different ecosystems (desert, tundra, rainforest, etc.).

Had a really long, vivid dream. There were some parts where I was actually getting pretty scared / emotional about it. Looking back on it, the plot was silly.
I was driving home and decided to stop by a friend's house. He wasn't home and I had to pick up my golf clubs and I knew where the key would be. I went inside the house, got my stuff, but decided to take a quick nap. I went to his room and slept in his bed for a while. I heard the front door open and his mom walked in so tried really hard to get out of the bed and get out of the house, but my body just wouldn't move. She found me and got really upset. My friend walked in and got upset too. I was apologizing profusely, and my friend kind of accepted the apology. The mom accepted the apology but said something along the lines of "don't expect my husband to be as lenient". I booked it out of the house and drove home.
Dream seemed a lot longer than the plot line, but a lot of the time I was waiting in suspense for the mom to come or I was trying to get my body to move out of the bed.
Sounds like dream paralysis haha. Sleep paralysis that probably transferred over into your dream. You were probably slowly waking

Don't recall any dreams actually. Not sure why I can't.
I'm going out of town this weekend and following week for spring break. I will have very limited, if any, posting abilities. I'll try to keep an account of my dreams but I'm going somewhere I probably won't remember how / where / when I went to sleep :P.
I'll update everyone at the end of the week.
Well, I'm back, and quite honestly I can't remember if I had a single dream over spring break. I'm going to start my dreaming back up though.
Maybe you should try a different method :P
I think the issue over spring break was that I didn't get more than like 4 hours of sleep a night since I was with my senior class in Mexico at an all inclusive resort. But I'm trying to MILD during the day, so we'll see how that turns out.

Had an epicly long and vivid dream but I didn't write it down. It was amazing though.
Great idea, my idea was to do this too....

Ah, sorry for the inactivity. I've been extremely busy and haven't had any time to post or remember any dreams.
Had my first lucid dream. It was long too. About 15 minutes. I'll post the details in a few hours -- I'll need to copy it from my journal.
Yay! Good for you mashupota :manama sure to write down the events in the day leadingup to the LD, anything bizarre, what time you went to sleep, how your day went. This might help you find out what might have caused the dream.
To increase your recall ALOT try journaling your day before you go to bed.

I entered the forest and picked some pine needles, which turned out to actually be kind of prickly when I touched them. I was really surprised by that. I had been lucid for about 5 minutes or so but at this point I faded out of lucidity for about 5 minutes.
During the short non-lucid period, I started to slowly fall upwards. I tried to grab branches of trees but couldn't hold on. It was like all of the branches were covered in slippery sap.
I became lucid again, tried to correct gravity, but ended up making it sideways gravity. The submarine started to hover above the ground and had a few pine trees orbiting it, which was really cool looking. I didn't see any dream characters and the only other living being besides me was the deer with five antlers, which was also orbiting the submarine. A bunch of trees got uprooted and I started to wake up.
I didn't try to stay still and go back into the lucid, I just sat back, recollected all of the memories, and wrote them down.
I also didn't try to exert much control over the dream because I wanted to relax and enjoy my first lucid, and ended up just going with the flow. It was a great experience and it definitely resparked my interest in lucid dreaming.

Had a dream last night where I was gathering in a field with two groups of friends that I knew but had never met each other. One of the groups (about 5 people), was about to head inside my house because I was talking to Group 2 (about 7 guys) more than group 1. Then someone in group 2 had a football. I ran around telling him to pass, he missed, and a guy from group 1 caught it.
We all started spontaneously smiling, joking around, talking, and passing the football out in a yellow-grassed field. The sun was green like in my lucid dream, but I didn't turn lucid. We were waiting for a moving truck to bring a bunch of grass to replace the yellow grass. The 'grass' seemed to alternate between golden grass and golden wheat, but I didn't notice. I was having an amazing time and 'The Funeral' by Band of Horses was playing. I was extremely happy in the dream and somehow knew I didn't want to wake up even though I wasn't lucid. Then just as the climax of the song was about to hit, my alarm woke me up. Thought the timing was ironic and funny and started laughing out loud, went to a euphoric dream to the drag of reality.

Had I dream that I was in a video game. The dream has two parts. The first part I'm playing the game in 'Medium' difficulty and in the second part I'm playing the game on 'Nightmare' difficulty.
Medium Difficulty:
I was clearing a Vietnamese rice patty and wooden, decrepit house with a squad of soldiers. It was sunny outside and very warm / humid. I had an M16 and an MP5 with me and we wrecked shop. We lost a few guys but achieved the objective and went home.
Nightmare Difficulty:
The atmosphere changed when I changed the difficulty. It was raining, dark, cold, and spooky. I was alone this time but had the same weapons. The layout of the home was the same but had double the enemies. As I progressed through the home, my weapons ran out of ammunition and I picked up a pistol and shotgun. Eventually I came to a part where the Vietnamese were using POWs as soldiers and I had conversations with some of them as I fought them. I recognized some of them, especially one coming after me with a chain gun. I completed the mission and woke up.
