VERY close to first WILD, what happened?

So today I woke up and attempted to WILD. In around five seconds I entered it, with hallucinations entering the dream. Woke up in the dream, but for some reason my eyelids were flickering and only half open. I checked reality and decided it was a dream. As soon as I tried to open my eyes and stand I woke up and did just that. Anyone know what happened and how I can prevent this? I did try rubbing my hands as soon as I arrived and licked my bed, so it should have stabilized just a bit at the very least.
