      Anyone here dream of music?

You know.. like tartini's song "devil's grill" and stuff like that
Once in a while, in my dream, I wouldnt be able to see something,
but i would hear a beat with my voice rapping on it. When i wake up I try to write everything I heard, but I CANT.

but music in dreams are real nice to hear

Hi Life! I've had music in my dreams but I don't remember what it was like. It's kind of hard, I know I've dreampt of music, but thats all I know. It would be cool to make a song in your dreams and then really make it.

      Yep, dun that.
Especially a few years ago when I was really into writing music - i would often sort of dream up cool sounds then figure out how to make them. But recently I dreamed I was watching an anime movie about teddybears and I thought 'man that has a good soundtrack, i wish I had written that song' - then I woke up and remembered the song and realised that I had subconsciously created it. I can still hum the tune now :yumdumdoodledum:

Paul McCartney heard the tune for 'Yesterday' in a dream...

I have musical dreams all the time. A good technique to use if you have nightmares is to recall a tune that is soothing or will distract you from the thing causing the fear/anxiety. I start with a basic rythm, then, one by one, I add instruments until I have a song with multiple instruments. I often end up with a full orchestra playing in my head. Weird thing is, I don't read notation, but have a great ear for melody, rhythm and harmony.

I also often hear choirs singing along with me when I sing hymns or praise and worship songs to God.
"By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me; a prayer to the God of my life."
      Psalm 42:8

Yeah, alot of times I'll visit concerts in my dreams (Mainly White Stripes). Other times I may be onstage playing one of my many instraments.

Just a tune. 's probably better thtat way - music seems to be a more natural language for dreams than english; often that just comes out garbled.
I'd better record it now i guess...

That's really Awesome!!! I tried to figure out music in a lucid dream once, but I forgot the tune soon after because I lost concetration. It was my second time so I was too short of an attention span. I wish I could remember that tune.

By the way have any of you heard of happy hardcore music?
It's really cool. I'm just telling you this because that's the kind of music I heard in that dream. I just can't remember the melody.

I was at a (lame) cover-band concert of Messiah Prophet. They did "Heavy Metal Thunder", and they didn't do well at it.
Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week; you have a schedule, a calendar... Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures.
A fear of time running out.

I've actually had many dreams about music, but those only happen when i fall asleep with the radio on From inside the dream i can clearly hear the music and then my mind just makes a whole dream centered around the specific song thats playing.

I have picked up playing the bass and had the instrument for just over 2 months now (never touched an instrument before) I don't have a teacher so I have no clue if I am going about it the right way or not ^^. However in my dreams I can sometimes play some really funky grooves, they aren't technical masterpieces, but they sound... well... groovey ^^.

I have been struggling a bit with lucids for the past 3 months, but one of my goals is to learn the sounds so I potentially could recognise the music I am playing in dreams and replicate them IWL. There is a bit of a paradox here potentially though as I would have to abandon control and take on an observing passive lucid role, but accordning to Jane Gackenbach (a previous associate of LaBerge, now one of his opponents regarding the theoretical discussions concerning lucid dreaming) this is possible and desirable, but requires quite extensive practice in meditation.

One time I created the most amazing trance lead in a non lucid dream and it started playing everywhere in the dream. Then after I woke up I forgot it!
