Red face My first lucid dream!

This is super exciting for me because i was ready to give up on this because i get very impatient and tend to give up on things if i don't get it right away. So its been almost two weeks since i started my dream journal and i had my first lucid dream and false awakening.

In my dream i was with my mother buying something in a store when she gave me the money and told me to buy it while she got the car. When i bought the thing and went out to go to her she wasn't there. I ended up walking in the dark to my apartment building where there was this women. The women ended up being my mom but i could recognize her because she looked different and had two babies. One she was holding in her arms and the other was in a stroller. It was so weird that when i was walking to the door to my apartment building i though "Is this a dream?" I then looked at my hand and saw white specks and it was blurry around the finger area. Right away i realized it was a dream. Guess what i tried to do first... The usual, i tried to fly. So i jumped but i didn't fly i just jumps really far. The i closed my eyes and told myself that when i opened them i would be flying over an ocean. When i opened my eyes i woke up... Oh so i thought. I got up from my bed as usual and went to call my cousin to tell her that i had a lucid dream. At that moment i though i was awake so i wasn't lucid and i never realized i was dreaming until i woke up and i was still in my bed. I felt a little confused when i woke up and i just got up and went to the living room to tell my cousin who was cleaning in there.

I have a few questions and I'm sorry if this post was long and boring.

      1. I hear that when you are lucid you usually feel yourself sleeping, as in your body asleep in your bed. I didn't feel that. Was it really a lucid dream?

      2. My lucid dream wasn't as lucid as many people described it to be, is it possible that i dreamed that i was having a lucid dream? (This question is stupid but i really dont know what to think)

      1. It was indeed a lucid dream.
      2. There are varying levels of lucidity and dream control, because it was your first you didn't fly successfully. You did have a lucid dream, but handled the awakening incorrectly (imho.) When you wake up you should immediately do at least 2 reality checks. IE, looking at your fingers, then the nearest timepiece, that way if it's false, you regain lucidity. Hope this helped.
