I saw my dog who passed in my LD this morning :-)

Some of you might recall that my 12 1/2 year old Bichon "Bailey" had to be put down this past April but I had the following dream this morning.

I was letting my dogs out to do their morning "business" and as I went out into the sunlit yard I noticed that there were THREE dogs when there should have only been two.. Brianna (Bailey's sister) and Bijoux (the new Bichon puppy).

I walked over to the third dog and said "Bailey?" She looked up at me and I scooped her up and held her to my chest softly saying "Bailey" over and over. It was then that I knew that I was dreaming and that I was lucid.. I held her for a while and then gently put her down.

For some reason I thought I need to do the July Lucid Task of the Month (asking "where am I?)". It didn't dawn on me until I woke up that today was the first day of AUGUST!!

Anyhoo, I decided I needed to find people. I looked around and saw in the distance that there was a huge field behind my house and a large group of guys were playing football. They were not in uniform/pads but I could tell a serious game was going on.

I took large flying leaps towards the field and once, while in mid air, I looked back at my yard and saw the small white shapes of my dogs.. all three of them...

I landed near the edge of the field and I tried to talk to some of the guys but they ignored me.. they were so intent on playing their game.

I've never been a big football fan.. but I knew what I had to do. I walked down to the end of the field and saw that the quarterback had thrown a pass to a receiver at my end of the field. I ran full speed and intercepted the pass! I just took it inches from the receiver's grasp.

I twisted around and started to run towards the opposite end of the field. I dodged and leaped over players and spun away from tackles. I was freakin' unbelievable!!! I ran into the end zone for a touchdown!

I casually dropped the ball and walked over to one of the guys and said "I'm lost.. can you tell me where I am?" He just stood there kindof stunned and didn't say anything. They all just stood there in shock.. staring.

I thought that I had woken up as I was back in bed next to my husband and I told him that I had dreamed of seeing Bailey.. but then I realized that my bedroom wasn't right. There were brown closet doors with white trim and I realized that I was having a false awakening as we don't have a closet in the bedroom.. and then I woke up for real.

Well I was too late for the July task but I am soo grateful for this LD as I got to hold my Bailey again.

I've had a couple dreams with my late golden retriever Jolie too...I know how nice it can be just to see them again, as you remember...and hold them one last time...

Great job on the lucid, Clairity, may you have many more that bring you equal or greater happiness!

      Way to go Clairity
I’m so glad for you. I think a lot of us hopes to see and be with our lost pets someday. The other day my wife and I were over to her sisters. One of her big friendly hairy goofy happy dogs came over to use waging his tail and happy to see use. After we left her home my sister-in-law let the dog out for 5 minutes and it came back in, crawled up in a closet and died. A personal observation seeing I have witnessed more than one dogs death, Is that they seem to know within hours that there time is up. One buy refusing any treats to eat and they seem to be very happy. Well that been my experience.

That is a pretty awesome LD, Clarity. I must say, though, that the lucid task of the month would be the last thing on my mind if I got to hang with my childhood dog again. Sounds like Bailey has become a dreamsign for ya, hopefuly he'll be back

It was pretty good of you to recognize the fact that he had passed on and therefore make the connection that you were dreaming. I occasionally encounter people who have passed away in my dreams and it doesn't phase me a bit to even think "wait, this can't be real!"

      Ughh, I hate that!

Inappropriate and irrelevant necro. Also, Bailey is one of the top 5 most common names for dogs. Thread locked. Please refrain from posting in threads that have not been active for more than 2 years, especially if you have nothing useful to add to the conversation. Thanks.
