lucid dream lobby

i was thinking about this idea i've came up with because of this recurring dream i had. the dream is about me at this mall like place. it has people there. it also has different stores or entry ways to different genre of dreams. it is always random.

so i've been thinking about always going to this place to pic my dream type everytime i become lucid. I want to know if any of you guys have made something like this. sorta like a dream lobby.
it will be cool if you guys share how your lobby, or whatever you guys call it, is like. I would love to here it.

I think it would be a cool idea in a way. It would help control a lot I would think, that instead of being thrust into a dream where anything could be happening, you appear in a space you made so you can collect yourself and stabilize, and then move out to where you want. It's hard to teleport somewhere else if you are being chased by a dinosaur or falling off a building, in your own lobby or hub you can just step through a door or something.

It would be kinda cool as well, you might want to post this idea in the beyond dreaming forum- why not have everyone make up the same lobby? It would be cool, what with shared dreaming and all, to be able to go off with other dreamers from this lobby into dreams together? Run it by them, you never know what could happen. Maybe take a poll of what kind of lobby people prefer most.

The concept of an entrance area - somewhere you default to when you begin a lucid has been discussed a lot, and many people use it. Some people have an area like a lake or a house they go to which ensures the dream is stable and then continue from there to whatever their goal is.

If you end up in this 'mall' a lot - try going there in a lucid and learn what it signifies to you - see if it's a stable place for you to begin your dreams. Personally when I was thinking about this a long while ago I designed a lake, somewhere quiet, calm and stable which was completely my own :)

Funny you mention that, i had a dream that started off in a mall, i dont know how or why i just knew that this mall represented life, there were all forms of people (no aliens or nothing) just different social groups and ethnicitys etc, and each shop/room in the mall represented a different way of life. I myself didnt actually follow anyone into these rooms, instead i was drawn to the end of the mall, where something 'spiritual was' i dont remember what i saw but it attracted me enough to investigate. Anyway i ended up outside the mall, it was as exit but more of an 'entrance' into the 'real' world. Outside it was something else.. I just 'knew' that these people outside were the ones controlling the people inside, everyone inside the mall was glamorous and smiling and pretending to be happy, fake, the people outside were there 'real' personas, projecting themselves to the inside, like playing a game sort of. And they werent nice lol, think Sith like people, dark wizards and sorcorers, all ugly and evil loooking, it 'felt' spiritual, i even 'knew' it was a dream, but didnt act upon it, all i thought to myself was "im out of my depth here". Thats after i noticed him, from what i assume he was my shadow, my evil side, a tall slender pale white demonic eyed man in a long black trench coat, the only person i caught eyes with, instantly there was a deep connection and it frightened the fuck out of me. Panic hit me i went back in the mall and woke up. I see now that i should have stayed and faced him, but it was an experience like no other at the time
