Lucid dreaming on demand :)
Tonight i've experienced something I forgot about for a very long time.
After 2 hours of tossing and turning in my bed, a thought appeared in my mind : "Why dont I WILD now?" Indeed, next second I've experienced the rush of WILD onset !
I quickly entered a fairly long LD followed by a FA. Then I woke up again.
Without hesitation I decided to do it again. Not sure how, but I've induced second WILD by thinking of my desire to enter it. This time I've decided to do something out of OOBE books - I tried doing a backflip through my bed while entering WILD.
Surprisingly enough, after 2-3 attempts I found myself falling through the darkness. Next I've entered an absolutely alien lucid dream where I was suspended in a cube of bubbling water with some creature guiding me...
Last August, at the peak of my LD performance I've experienced same thought appearing in my mind : "Why dont I lucid dream now?" I'm sure that thought wasnt a product of my logical thinking, it just appeared out of the blue!
Strangely enough, that thought had tremendous influence - I felt kinda baffled - Indeed, why dont I just lucid dream now? And I did....
Normally, if you think about something like this there's a part of you that doubts that it will happen, but here there was no such resistance...

Any form of suggestion to oneself to have Lucid Dreams will eventually pay off in having Lucid Dreams. Some suggestions are more elaborate than others. "Reality Checking" is simply an indirect form of suggestion, and it works well because people are swept into its logic and so they exercise it well and often. But the simple suggestion of "I will go Lucid in my dreams", if practiced with the same intensity, would bring similar results, but instead of having to find some incongruity in one's dream, which the Dream would have to provide in order to tip you off, with just the simple suggestion to Lucid Dream, it will come to you that you simply know you are now Lucid. As you say, the thought will just occur to you.
