Finally... success!

First controlled, aware, awesome, vivid, memorable, awesome lucid dream.
I walk out through my door with my friend Michael and look down to see a puppy-sized version of my dog smiling up at me. I immediately recognize that he just died a few weeks ago (I love this dog, he continues to be awesome even when he's dead) but accept the fact that I am hallucinating or something. I see Michael look down at where he is and comment on him, which makes me wonder how he sees my hallucinations. At this point I do a nose-plug RC and it fails, (and i nearly think it passed) so I do it again and it fails, but I am not yet aware, and I do it again because I think my fingers slipped or something but I get to the point where I finally realize it is a dream (after like 5 RCs lol). I look north and start to fly up up up through the roof of my house and into the night sky. The sensation was amazing. I very quickly encounter a city with palaces covered in cascades of colors and I think some sort of sound is audible but I can't specify what it is and any words I use would not give it proper justice. I am flying around the intricate architecture of this place with fountains and towers and lights, like a Las Vegas hotel show if anyone is familiar with them except better, and nearly stop flying but I start up again before I hit the ground. Now I see the inhabitants of this place: ethereal, blue beings, vaguely humanoid in shape but much grander and with wings. Around this point my control of the dream leaves me and I don't even think I was in the rest of it. A story started to unfold about some other beings in the same town, that look like dwarves with wings, building up a town and for a long time I saw them laying bricks to a wall. There was also a dispute between the males and females of their people. I woke up feeling out of breath. It's 02:30. I have no friggin idea what to do because I'm sure as hell too excited to sleep and I can't even post this right now seeing as my internet is down.
Typed that out at 02:30 before i could post anything, internet is up again. Still so excited. Not actually sure what time it is, someone said daylight savings change was today so idk.
This was frickin awesome. After so many months of on and off dedication to this, I end up getting a good LD after several weeks of not remembering dreams and notpracticing awareness.:?
AND SHIT! My bonsai tree just got knocked off my desk!

Wow, a little bit like my first lucid. Basically I saw this weird water slide-ish complex of intricate tubes, realized that I had never seen anything like it in my life and how ridiculous it looked, went lucid. I went on to this kingdom much like you're describing here with strange, celestial beings that spoke a language that sounded familiar and that I could vaguely understand. I ended up making myself their leader and even going back several times in multiple lucid dreams.

Hell yah!!! That is AWESOME to hear! Very motivating to see someone who has struggled in the past have an exhilarating lucid dream after a while.
