I just started having a lucid dream and when I was in it I said "Woah, this is a lucid dream!" and then I tested it by saying "I wish I was at my house" and then the dream faded off. This was the first one I've had in a long time and I messed it up. :?

Aww, don't worry, you'll get it right eventaully. Actually, for me after having a dry spell, I will have a hard time with first lucid dream. But it will get better if you concentrate nightly.
We've all done things like that. Sorry, I know how disappointed you are. :P
what I first do when I reach a lucid dream is get on my knees and focus on a texture; This will improve your abbilitys to stay in this Plane. After that .. Explore and have fun :D
Did you get excited in any way, cause its just rule number 1, NEVER GET EXCITED :)
