Odd and reocurring
This dream starts out the same every time, I'll be laying in my bed and know I'm dreaming but I can't move. I close my eyes and will my spirit - or what have you - to get up instead of my dream body but everything's really heavy and when I look over I see my own head limply laying off to the side. This really creeps me out. Obviously I'll have a choice between laying back down and allowing a false awakening to happen or trying to continue the dream but I'll suddenly feel weird like I've got swimmers ear or sudden pain and I'll end up "blacking out" until another dream starts.
I don't know what this is, but I really don't want it.

This sounds like your already in a false awakening but believe its something else. Some peeps believe a FA and an OBE are both the same. The sounds etc you hear sounds like the SP as you can still get that feeling after leaving your body, I have lots of times and I'm a natural and experienced lucid dreamer. When you leave your body next time glide away from yourself, go to the opposite side of the room, just imagine yourself there and you'll be there, you may just be having very quick FA's and as soon as your out your back in again. It just takes practise, time and perseverance . Hope this helps a little :)

The odd part is that I never hear any sounds at all, it's just like there's water in my ear, or something like that. Anyway, I'll be sure to try and glide away next time, sort of thing I never really think of until I read about it or something. Gladly when I hear or read something it sticks in my head so hopefully it works, thanks for the advice :)

Your welcome, and see if it's any better if you manage to glide away and keep me posted. :)

I had a couple dreams I controlled last night, one involved me being the guard of a prince being crowned but I started to realize I was losing control and I ended up with a false awakening, then I had another of the coming out of my body remembering I should glide but for some reason I didn't do it, thought it was odd, and I went downstairs to try and fly but someone woke me up before I could. It's a bit more control than I've had in months though, so the more practice the better I get, just have to learn how to maintain control now.
