Thread: What's the most insane thing youve ever done in a LD?

I spun a top, with the intention of testing the Inception concept:

"Hey, AG?" She turns to look at me "Do you have a top I can borrow?" Seeming a little peeved she extends her hand to me and I take from her a lumpy dark green plastic top.

"Don't lose it" she says.
"Thanks" I say, grinning.

I spin the top in the palm of my hand, though the cheap plastic handle is about to break off, so it's a very poor spin. I use TK to balance it out and spin it a little faster in my hand. Then I watch to see if it would fall over.

a few seconds go by, and at first I think it will, but then it spins out and falls off my hand. I pick it back up and decide to give it a better test on a flatter surface. I go to the hood of a car and spin it, but it slides off the slight incline, so I take it to the roof.

This time when I spin it something magical happens. The top begins to grow, vines shooting upward and intertwining, and small, brilliant apples begin to sprout from it, the apples seem to be made out of living ruby. And then it topples over, and the magical growths vanish, and the lame green top is all that is left.

And I've been sorted by the Sorting Hat in Harry Potter:

The face is much more superficial than I expected with only the smallest folds to delineate the features, but the hat is exactly how bedraggled I expected it to be, sewed together piecemeal. It is a good size, but the brim is very small, making it look more like a dunce cap. The face is frozen, expressionless.

"Hello?" I say

The hat comes to life, the face taking on a personality as it blinks a few times and stretches it's mouth. I hold the hat loosely as it begins to twist and stretch just like a person waking up from a long nap. The rough material giving off the weight of something twice it's density.

"Hell-ooooo" it says, letting out a forceful sigh as it finishes stretching.
"Don't put me back in there, it was SO stale" The sorting hat says. I frown.
"Aren't you supposed to talk in rhyme?" I ask.
"Oh AM I?" The hat asks with good humor "Maybe I should just BAIL" The hat begins to chuckle with a wide grin leaning back enough to make me fear it falling . It has a very pleasant warm voice and its humor is infectious, I can't help smiling.
"May I wear you?" I ask not knowing the finer etiquette of human/talking hat relations.
"Yes of course!" The hat says.
I flip it upside down to put on and realize the hole is too small for my head, and again that the brim is too narrow
"Can you stretch please?" I ask, in a sing-song voice the hat responds.
"For a seeker of knowledge I shall" pleasantly the brim expands to a respectable wizards size brim and the circumference of the hat expands large enough for the hat to slip down over my eyes.

I put the hat on and the first thing I notice is the immediate loss of ambient sound. It is utter silence. My vision does not go dark like I expected but I see everything with a dark brown color, like the hat is made of saran wrap . I rub my hands together for good measure, and continue to walk around so as to not lose input from the dream scene. I think to myself and it's like the volume of my thoughts has been turned up 3 fold and is coming out with a small amount of static interference.

"I wish I was put in...." I stop myself from finishing the thought "Uh...am I supposed to tell you want I want?" I ask
"Not Necessary," the hat's voice reverberates in my head "Hmmmm..." It ponders, and I feel a strange sensation in my brain, the closest I can describe it is like what you imagine a snake would feel like sliding around inside. Slipping between and around the squishy lobes, not painfully, but wholly alien and uncomfortable. This is a sensation that I doubt I will ever be able to completely forget.
"You have NO idea what you're doing" says the hat vaguely, I feel like a failure and I don't even know why.
"I know what I want" I say in my defense.

I am still walking around, suddenly in my line of vision I see a little girl, she is wearing a brown wizard hat as well, but it is not covering her eyes, and does not have the Sorting Hat's face It takes a few moments, but I realize the girl is me Though she doesn't look like me at that age. The hat talks and I know that it is directed at the girl. The feeling of a snake in my brain lifts. but there is a strange tinkling music to replace it, very quiet but distinct

(sketchy recall on dialogue here)"What would you do," asks the hat "if there was a murderer in your house at night?"
The girl looks terrified "I would run!" I feel like I've had a punch to the gut. The girl is me and she would abandon her family to a murder to save herself.

"There goes my shot at Gryffindor" I think "but there is still Ravenclaw" I hear the hats laughter in my head again but it is not warm and humorous like before.
"You can't even pick a major!" it says, tauntingly "what business do you have with the intelligent house" This really hurts my feelings. I get more of an impression than clear thoughts from the hat as it thinks that I don't belong in Hufflepuff or Slytherin either. I finally get mad.

"No." I say flatly. "That girl is not me. I would have fought, even at that age. And I definitely would now." and then with even a stronger conviction "I don't know what I want to do yet, but I'm still smart, (something like) If I could just be a student from now on, that's what I would do"
"Hm..." said that hat with a good dose approval "Seems I need to re-think this" there is a sly edge to his voice. I suddenly get the impression that he was goading me into defending myself for some kind of test, and I feel sheepish for not doing it before and for being emotional about it.
"There isn't time" I say to the hat, sure I am going to wake up soon. The hat ignores me though. I reach up and run one hand around the rough brim of the hat to stabilize the dream, I find a desk, and with the other hand, begin to write down the keywords of the conversation, careful to think over every word that had been said. I don't bother reading it through when I'm finished, confident I have it memorized. The hat still hasn't given me an answer.

"Where do I go!?" I ask
"In a minute" says the Hat
"I need to know! Don't make me do this again!" I plead
"harrumph" exhales the hat, then it sighs again, "hmmmmmm" it tones and I hold my tongue trying to be patient. "Alright, alright. GRYFFINDOR" the hat calls out.

Dunno if this is the most 'insane' but it was definitely the most awesome.

I turned away and, looking down, saw I was at least 300 meters in the air.

“Sweet!” I thought and screamed down to the ground at enormous speed. I landed in a field and felt a bit pissed off at my subconscious for not letting me go to the toy town so I threw my sunglasses (which apparently I’d been wearing) at a bunch of aloe vera like plants.

I couldn’t help notice how warmly the sun bounced off the leaves and the gentle swaying of the green stems in the breeze. I walked past them and, in a huff, ripped one of the leaves off and chomped into it à la Mzzck’s stabilization suggestion.

It was an unreal sensation. Heavily plant flavoured and really juicy and crunchy.
The mass of different experiences thoroughly grounded me in the dream and I decided that if I couldn’t go to Toy Town, I’d sure as hell fuck shit up.

I walked out onto the middle of the nearby road and jumped in front of the nearest car. The green hatchback slammed into my body, barely making me budge but crushing the metal into itself. I smirked and threw the car onto its roof. The woman driving began slowly pulling herself out of the smashed window saying “You can’t do this...” so I punched her in the face.

As the next car approach I jumped to the side and pushed it into the green car sending both of them careening across the bitumen. Another car came, this time swerving around me. As it drove off I turned to it and raised my arms, forcing it telekinetically to flip over into a ditch.

I think I may have been laughing this whole time, but that’s a bit weird so let’s pretend I wasn’t.

A motorbike this time.
The rider veered past me and tried to race off but I again turned and, with a small gesture, sent he and the bike flying into the air. I’ve never had such control over powers in dreams and, though I was having fun, I began to feel a little bad for my DC’s at that point and decided to stop.

you too, I've been hit by a car before, but with the intention of letting it hurt me. Very different experience!

1. In a dream a man was annoying me and i closed my eyes and i ''created'' a gun, and i shoot him.
2. Me and a nother person wanted to create a space ship and go to the moon.
3. Drive a jeep over zombies.

Anybody who's played the game PROTOTYPE knows who he is. I had a pretty crazy fight with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr).

Weird story:

One of my most memorable dreams ever, which I immediately told my friends about, focused on some guy standing on top of a building in a hoody doing all this crazy stuff against an army of bad guys.

5 or so months later Prototype came out and I was all "OHMYGODGUYSTHISISWHOIWASDREAMINGABOUT!!!" They all agreed it bore an uncanny resemblance to the dream I'd described months earlier.

Cool game as well, that. Must've been a sweet dream!

Well i took an extacy pill that was layered with colors^^

Did some craaaaazyy stuff in that particular dream. (was the first time i was pseudoflying, like jumping lon distances. (Also like in prototype i used a controller to make myself jump like that.

lol dude that is a weird story. Did the guy in your dream ever say his name? In the game, his name is Alex Mercer, but the army refers to him as ZEUS.

And yeah, it was a crazy dream. My fight with Iron Man was some of the most fun I've ever had. Being able to run up buildings and throw cars around was fun as hell. We fucked a lot of shit up.

Idk why Alex was so upset about having those powers in the game. It had fun, being able to run 100 mph was amazing. I can run pretty fast IRL, because I train in boxing so I'm in good shape, but having Alex's powers was so much better. I could also jump 50 feet and turn my limbs into weapons.

I hung out with a Ramona Flowers-esque chick and killed a bunch of cops with her. While using elemental bending.

In the dream

The most memorable, over-the-top thing I've done in a lucid dream occurred long ago, long enough that I cannot accurately define how long.

I recall a vast battlefield, with several massive airships of some description - closer to a flying battleship or starship than a zeppelin or large plane. I was commanding one side, though I know not what the sides were named.

I directed my forces from the safety of one of the battleships, and when I became lucid, I decided to end it then and there - conjuring forth a Yamato Cannon blast, as StarCraft battlecruisers can. It was considerably more powerful than the ones in StarCraft - single-handedly annihilating the enemy in nuclear fire.

Sadly, I woke up then, with an irritating headache, if I recall correctly. 'Twas a massive battle, if a bit vague at times.
