i don't really have a method. earlier that night i was talking with a girl, and we were saying how we're going to own an island together when we get older and it will be perfect and we'll sleep under the stars every night. i guess it just kind of clicked. i'm always making stuff in my dreams so it comes a little naturally to start building things rather than fly around and mess with people. (although that's fun too) -- and yes, i made sure to put this dream in my journal. i'm going to keep reading it to myself before i go to bed... and hopefully i can just awake on my island whenever i want to. -- next time i'm lucid, PARTY AT JAKE'S ISLAND and you're all invited! bring kegs!

Awesome... Its a great attitude not to doubt yourself, you'll have more succes that I way I suppose, most "Lucid but not totally lucid" I've read (like they show on lucidity.com) are about doubting/afraid of breaking rules

When you are dreaming, you should play that tropical music you hear in those movies.

We'd all come to your island. Have some munchies, some drinks, some dancing, have a swim in the i'm sure pristine and fabulously temperatured water, then we'd all play lucid limbo (How low can YOU go?), it'd be goin' off.

an island. hrm. i've always wanted my own private island as well, but then i'd miss stuff like Taco Bell and french vanilla cappuccinos from Tim Horton's (i think only us in Canada know what a Tim Horton's is).

heh. i was wrong about it only being in Canada; however, there are 2200 in Canada and only 160 in the U.S...so i'm sure not many Americans know about it.

but, i'm surprised no-one mentioned anything earlier. Its been like that for at least a fortnight.

ok i'm back on my island. right away i become lucid because, hey, it's my island. i look around and remember where i left off. i start a party. music starts playing, its sublime 40 oz to freedom. i hear the whole cd. people start arriving in boats. some i know, some i don't. everyone starts dancing in the waist deep water. just to be on the safe side i appoint some lifeguards. i give them towers and megaphones. my dad and my sister are there. we start to walk around the island, i show them everything i created, they are really proud. but when we come to the west end of the island there's a peninsula that wasn't there before. we walk out on it. on the north side of the peninsula the water is really really cold, and on the south side the water is really hot. we walk down to the point of the peninsula and the water is perfect. we get in and start playing. i'm chasing fish around. the fish are all colorful. purples, greens, blues. you can see them perfectly through the water. about 10 feet off shore there's a little blue buoy floating. it kind of looks like one of the those chlorine things for pools. my sister wades out to it and opens the top. she pulls out a blue whistle. i tell her to leave it alone but she doesn't listen. she blows it. i tell her that someone will think we're in trouble. and sure enough i turn around and the whole party is running down the beach to our rescue. i stop them and tell them that it was a mistake and i ask them to enjoy the party. everyone goes back to dancing. i decide to go for a swim. i fly up and out then i drop myself into the sea. its warm. i go under and start chasing fish around. i loose lucidity, i wake up. -- i love my island.

Sounds warm, wish I could dream up an island lol. Keep us posted on your island. Interesting.

Man that sounds so sweet... I've loved building stuff ever since I was a kid with lego. Someday, I'm gonna make a fortress so that if anything nasty starts chasing me I can run there and blow it to hell via intercontintal ballistic missiles.

update on the island!

aliens invaded. but they're good aliens. they look like giant manta rays and they give you rides all over the ocean. i'll give you the story.

i was in a non-lucid dream on my island when snakes started coming out of the grass and chasing me down the beach. i jumped into the water but they chased me still. i swam out to a mini island that's about 300 yards of the main island's coast. there i met my ex girlfriend's older sister and two other people that i didn't recognize. i told her that snakes were coming and she said not to worry. she said there’s a new inhabitant in the waters... and as she said that a giant manta ray swam by the island (water is extremely clear) and ate all the snakes. he then came back and told me that his people were from another planet but they liked my islands so much that they wanted to stay. i agreed and i sat on his back... his back is super sticky and i didn't have to hold onto anything... he swam me around the island then dropped me off by my pirate ship. i become lucid and swim out to erin (ex's sister) and we talk... i ask her why she's in my dream and she says because i want her in it.

I wish I had an island like yours, you know a place to chill and party when you feel like it....you really hit the jackpot Jake...

I mean, it's so cool that even aliens from other planets visit it for fun!!!! I will try to work on my ability to build things in my next LD's, and hopefully, after a while I'll have my own haven...or I'll just squatt yours
