My first lucid dream

It was kind of a disappointment, and i'll tell you why.

So, i was walking, then i realized i was in a dream. After i started lucid dreaming, a dude walked up to me and said "You cant be awake while you are sleeping" then he started punching me until i "woke up". It was actually a false awakening and i didnt realize it.

Overall the dream lasted about 10 seconds before i got kicked out.

First of all, congrats on your FIRST LD!

Sounds like a pretty good LD to me, especially for a first one. You had a dream character talk and interact with you. That's pretty exciting.

You know, one of the most important things is to have intent to lucid dream, and to be excited about it. That's what helps you the most. Try to look at your dream from more optimistic point of view and you will have more of them. Happy dreams

I hope that short lucid dream will motivate you to attempt another lucid dream. We have other techniques here on DV but you can still stick with DILD (realising you're in a dream during a non-lucid) for your future attempts.

There's nothing to be saddened by a short lucid, for a short lucid is a lucid dream too! My very, very first lucid dream that I didn't even add to my lucid dream count was almost as short as yours too. I just realised I was lucid, did one action and I slipped back into a non-lucid again. 5 seconds perhaps?
