Hi folks,
Just wanted to ask; Have any of you ever had a dream that was so emotionally powerful/beutiful/captivating that it has changed you as a person in some way? I have (check my other thread in this section).
Feel free to share below. Let us know roughly what the dream was about etc, and how it has changed you in some way :)
I had this dream a long time ago, back when I wasn't into lucid dreaming yet. I was flying over some hills, with lush green trees below me, and the smell of rain lingering in the air. I was with my best friend, who had passed away irl a long long time ago. We were talking about a game we used to play, nothing special. At that time, I was in conflict with someone i know irl. My bestie (in the dream) was telling me to make up with that person. I told her something about never doing that because he was an awful person and I'd never wanna make up with him. Then my bestie said, and I remember very clearly, "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle." The dream ended soon thereafter.
When I woke up, I realized I had read that exact quote a few months ago, and must've been some residual memory. But that dream really changed me. Maybe it was the combination of the scenery, the fragrance in the air, and the company I was with – but that quote was stuck in my head ever since, and it tugged at my heart. I made up with the dude the very next day. And since then, I've had this attitude where I should treat other people well, and get to know them, rather than judge them solely on my first impressions.

I first heard of lucid dreams from my best friend in high school some time during my senior year back in 2008-2009. During that year my neighbor across the street passed away due to health reasons, but before she left I made a promise to come visit her. Every day I got off the bus and walked home I stopped in between her house and my father's and thought to myself 'she'll be there tomorrow. I'm just tired today,' and then one weekend I got a phone call...
The night of the funeral I went to sleep thinking about my last words to her, and a promise I never kept. The dream seemed so real, and maybe it was lucid, but I know everything I did and said was something I would have done in the real world. Here's the dream:
I was mowing the front yard of my father's house on a really hot and sunny day. The only things I could see in the background was the house, the yard I was mowing, and my neighbor's car parked right where my dad would normally park his vehicle. The moment I noticed her car sitting there I heard singing. The lyrics I heard weren't very clear, but I knew the voice, and the tune seemed familiar. I walked over to the car, and the closer I got the louder the singing became, and the more visible the driver of the car came to be. I got in the car and told my neighbor that I was sorry, and that I should've kept my promise. I hugged her, and cried, and apologized. She told me "it's okay, don't worry. It's okay," and then she kept singing her gospel song. When I asked her to stop singing she sang louder and with more merry emotion. And that's when I woke up around 6am the next morning in a pool of my own tears. I still think of my neighbor, that broken promise, and that dream. Now, I try my best not to take anyone for granted, especially when I don't know when I'll see him or her next.
I once had a dream that i was walking next to God, and walking next to him was a hooded figure who I knew was evil. As we walked, God explained to me how evil was necessary because without him all the good in the world could not exist. The hooded figure felt very kind and gentle. I realized that evil was making a sacrifice, and lived in misery so that I could be happy. I cried because I was so happy.
This dream changed my perception of all my "bad" emotions... I had this dream the night after finishing my final paper for an english class. It started as a paper about lucid dreaming, but ended up being a lot more. I researched a lot on dreaming religions and cultures, and one fundamental principle that was present in all of them was the law of polarity, like yin and yang. I woke up and understood that sometimes we need to be sad, so that we can also be happy.
