      Nightmare Induced Lucid Dream

so last night i had one of my first lucid dreams induced by a nightmare, even though i realised i was dreaming when i was being chased, i was still to scared to do anything major about it, and even if i did try to take controll i believe that i would still be to scared and un confident to have any impact

can anyone give me any pointers on how to overcome this emotion when lucid, and somthing that will help me be more confident and positive when trying to change the dream to what i desire? thanks.

Well, it's difficult at first. Because, even though you know that you are dreaming, the environment still looks extremely real and convincing. If I were in your situation, I would immediately try to "jump" into another dream scene. Just close your dream eyes and jump into a portal, taking you to wherever it is you want to go.

Hi, i'm sorry to hear about your nightmare, but congrats on the lucid!

When I have lucid nightmares, I do what Gills said – switch scenes. I also get really scared even though I know it's a dream. Be careful about closing your eyes though, as this has caused many people to wake up for real.

Another thing I do is scream. And by scream I mean yell at the dream. I would say "GO AWAY!!" or shout different commands at the dream, especially if some evil dude is chasing me. x)

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Something that I find helps is daydreaming. Not the typical kind; a bit more focused. When you have some time to kill (I like to use bus journeys), imagine yourself back in that situation. Think of how you could have handled the situation differently. Imagine taking control of the situation in whatever way you see fit. It helps to prepare yourself so as the next time you're confronted with a scary situation in a dream, you're more likely to follow the plan of action you've laid out. This could be anything, like taking a deep breath and facing whatever is pursuing you with calm resolve, or reaching to your belt and drawing a sword like a badass. Changing scenes is all well and good if you can pull it off, but in my experience, this is difficult to do when you're afraid.

Myself, I adopt a ridiculous, swaggering and overconfident persona when confronted with a nightmare-harasser. Usually combined with ultraviolence perpetrated on said entity. It's empowering, I highly recommend it.

I think that nightmares are the easiest to LD in. From 5-10 I did this a lot, I haven't had a nightmare for eleven years, been trying for about 2 years to have one. Every time I have something that should be a nightmare I take control of the situation and am not afraid, or I explain it away and it is something else that is not scary. I am always quite confident and worry free in life, and that transfers over to dreams.

Sorry about your nightmare, but congrats on the lucid.

I'm totally according to peigeyemps, I use to scream at the "evil character" of my dream, usually a ghost. It's a manner to focusing my strength against the nightmare and avoid panicking

Have you ever flown through the abysses of Andromeda and the skies of dwarf planets which orbit around the binary star of Sirrah?

So what kind of life you lead?
