Torture Dream? anyone have a clue about this

Before I start, I'm going to talk about something that has been really annoying me lately. I'm sure most of you know about all the muscle spasms you get during the WILD transition period. I sleep on my stomach with one of my legs bent out and my back kinda arched. This is the most comforting position for me, all the other positions make me uncomfortable. unfortunatly this is one of the worst positions to be in if you want to perform a WILD technique due to the annoying muscle spasms. I wake up from a regular dream then I can suddenly feel the sensations of SP starting to occur but then I remember that I'm in that position again so I try to move in a different position which won't cause muscle spasms but I'm to scared to move for fear of losing the ability to re enter sleep. I end up moving only slightly and then the transition starts and I tell you this was probably the most painful transition I've ever experienced (and it was LONG to) which put me into one of the worst lucid dreams I've ever experienced.

To give you a perspective of origin, This all started with an erratic entry. first the sensations in your head occur, then I could feel muscle spasms right under my left rib and a few other places. this causes me to fidgit a bit, I contenue on forcing my self not to fidgit trying to ignore all the musle spasms. Then things start getting even more chaotic. I get hypnogogic hillucinations making me feel like I'm rolling over in my bed and then suddenly it feels like I'm being sucked into my bed with extreme force. the feeling of getting sucked in my bed is common for me but this time, it's extremely intense and it actually hurts. My back feels like it is breaking, my ribs feel like they are getting smashed and my fingers feels like someone is trying to break them. Finally I'm thrown into a dream (almost literally) and I find myself in front of my door on the ground. I say to myself Finally I'm in the dream but then I can't get up. I try walking to the door but I can barely extend an arm. it doesn't end there, suddenly it feel like an invisible force is breaking my bones. I extend my arm and then my hands bend backwards causing mild pain in my fingers, then my legs buckle down and I start getting cramps in my knee. Then shortly later my head bends back and it feels like im crippling into myself. My fingers start to bend even more and the pain greatly increasing making me want to wake up. It lasts pretty long so I'm in aganizing dream pain for what seemed like forever and I was so looking forward to flying again.

I'm probably going to make another thread about this cause that kind of painful transition happened before but it never contenued into the dream like that I just got thrown out of my body. has this happened to anyone? I've had some dreams where I could barely open my eyes and I had to end it but I never experienced such pain as I did in this dream where my bones keep breaking.

Something really similar to this thread was posted in Attaining Lucidity, and I see it got locked for several reasons. So I'm deleting that one and keeping this one. As long as it stays on topic and doesn't turn into a battle, and no duplicate (or nearly duplicate) thread is made someplace else.

Should a notification of condescending and patronizing remarks be sent to you because that is what help spark the argument in my original thread. I never intended an argument to be started over there, I merely responded to what I interprited as snarky remarks which I didn't respond well to.

this thread is where it's suppose to be. Was never suppose to be in attaining lucidity. Gab moved it off a wrongful assumption that it pertained to the WILD sub-forum of attaining lucidity. Her reasons were because it was about WILD and everything WILD related belongs in the WILD forums which struct me as odd sense WILD is a sub-forum of attaining lucidity which pertained to discussions of methods and tequniques for WILD. I argued with her over that but I never got a responce, she just locked it after I replied to another poster. I was actually planning on bringing that to your personal attention.

I have actually had something similar happen to me with just my hands and fingers. It happened to me right at the end of a lucid though, right at the end of a DEILD chain. My fingers started to get all warped and disfigured, and felt like painful cramps. They even looked like they were being contorted by some invisible force. It didn't last nearly as long as yours, and the feeling wasn't as bad as bones breaking. Just like cramps and spasms.

Anyway, I don't know what's causing it for you, if it's your unique sleep position, or if you're low on some nutrients in real life. That could cause you to be having actual cramps that could manifest themselves in your LD, and at an amplified state. I guess it leads me to 2 important questions: is this experience recurring and if so, how often?

I couldn't tell you why you're having these dreams for sure. But you're probably having them because you've been having them for awhile now and you're expecting yourself to keep having them. If you want to stop having nightmares, or torture dreams, then you have to convince yourself that you wont. This applies to both the dreams and the hypnogogic imagery you described during your wild.

      Thanks for the reply

I've experienced things similar to this before on very rare occasions but this is the first time it's been severe like this. There was one time I could barely open my right eye and another time where it felt like some invisible force was pushing down on me. I've also had an experience where my hands would deform everytime I looked at it. It would bend in the most hedious looking ways but I never felt any pain during it. This dream was the only time it's been comparible to real torture.

The only thing I could really say that is consistant is the muscle spasms during the transition period which puts me through a really bumpy ride that ends in a very hard crash. to be specific, I get thrown out of my body with extreme force landing somewhere 12 to 15 feet away from my dream bed. This happends every now and then but this was the first time I felt a force hold me back from doing anything once in the dream.

this experience is fairly new in a dream for me. While I've had unknown forces get in the way of lucid dreams before, they are not frequent and so I don't think much about them. The only thing that has been a problem is the muscle spasms during the transition period which they say is caused due to the sleeping position you are in. Thats one of the reasons they tell you to sleep on your back because muscle spasms are less likely to happen. When they happen to me, it makes the transition from wake to sleep very uncomfortable and so everything gets kinda chaotic. This usually ends with me getting thrown out of my body and in the dream 10 to 15 feet away from my dream bed but once I'm in the dream, everything is normal. The experience I talk about in the op is a unique one which for the first time came right after a chaotic transition.
