Dream about a weird setting in medieval times

Set in: "VEE6" which i would assume to be a bastardized version of 5006 AD
Me: SWM, 30yo, American, work a 8-5 job



Medieval time period. Me and 2 other guys were sent to (Village/Settlement/Kingdom) "8" on ships. They had pouches full of coins, and I assume mine was full of coins too even though I didn't think it was. I jumped the gun and jumped on a ship and took it down a river with one of the other guys, once realising the older guy who was presumably in charge would be pissed we pulled it out of the river at a hairpin turn into something that looked like a lab with a little bit of water but was mostly white. After that the older guy who was presumably in charge came down the river in a trimoran with a glass deck and got hung up on something that resembled a beaver dam. We helped free the near pontoon of the trimoran and then I don't remember much until descending on the village.



Village was primitive, it was at this point I saw the VEE6, and assumed it was the year. We came into a large congregation where a new group of people had taken over the village. They were looking for men who disagreed with them and when one was pointed out they sent the children to retrieve them and bring them forward. Once the children had brought the first man forward he was obviously dead and discoloured as if something the kids had done within the 90 seconds of carrying him forward. Needless to say everyone in the village was scared shitless of these new rulers. Whatever this disturbance was was why we were sent there.
