Lucid Frustrations
I had several unrelated dreams leading up to the lucid one. I remember talking to my parents while they were packing my things. I don't know where I was going. The scene changed and I was running in a field near some really twisted trees. I was trying to cheer up a little girl who was sad or something. I know this particular dream was the longest, but I can't remember much of it. Then I was at some strange place that was supposed to be my school looking for a bathroom that wasn't overcrowded. Strangely this is a very common dream for me. It seems I can't get away from people trying to watch me piss. Next thing I know I'm back at home bringing in groceries. I don't know if this counts as a false awakening, but I was thinking about that last dream wondering why I didn't get lucid. In the background my mom was saying I should go to school and take an art class or something along those lines. As soon as I finished that thought, I realised I didn't remember waking up. It occurred to me that I must be dreaming. I set down the groceries in the snow and rubbed my hands together. This is the first time I remembered to stabalize, and I was calm but very excited. I looked around at the other houses, and the sky, and the more I rubbed my hands together the more vivid the scene became. I was trying to remember the tasks of the month, but it is technically Feb now and I couldn't remember any. So instead I decided I was going to cross something off of my own list. I was going to draw/paint while lucid. I, for some ****ing reason, decide to carry in the rest of the groceries and lose lucidity! Next thing I know I was waking up in my bed. SO FRUSTRATED UGH :(

Getting frustrated will not help you in getting your next one. You had a lucid dream and you should be thankful for it. Every lucid experience is a great opportunity to better your skills, find out what works, make a plan in your mind how to approach it next. This is a learning process. If you look at it the right way, it can be as much fun as LD itself.
It's normal to gain and then lose lucidity. You can practice more daytime awareness to help with that.
FA is a dream that starts with you waking up in your bed. So that was not FA. It was a normal dream, in which you realized you are dreaming. Congrats!
