in my dream last night i was in the wild where there were distorted animals (size-wise) that could talk... i was having a conversation with a kitten-sized lion... and yet i still didn't realize i was dreaming. i wonder if my brain thinks this is funny or something. torturing me isn't funny :(
my mother became a talking muffin and I found it to be perfectly normal.

dude this girl i was talkin to changed into my dad and it didnt seem wierd lol so i guess we r on the same boat.
I found it a little strange that hundreds of 30-foot monsters and horses came out of the sea but not being as strange as the woman I was talking to at the same time that denied being in some photos I found. And I knew she was in the photos. As I was talking to the woman and questioning her about if the photos belonged to her and as she was denying this, there the were, coming out of the sea and going down the beach to have some kind of meeting. Go figure!
Heh, What I've found is that when you are in a dream, its almost as if you are in a drugged up state, you don't really care what you're seeing but you enjoy it. This holds true for lucid dreams also, your mind can be side tracked like someone with ADD, and your focus dissapears. My advice: Pay attention to real life more, try to notcie every little detail in the world around you, and you will copy this behavior into your dreams.
I'm the same way, I saw a gigantic snake in a tree bigger then those ones in those stupid anaconda movies but I thought it was perfectly normal even when the people who were with me suddenly broke into a song about the snake. I just started singing along lol.

Maybe with that level of perception you'll have better luck in LDing.
When I first started trying to actually train myself to have an LD, it took me a month. There were a lot of times when a whole lot of funk would be going on and I wouldn't even give it a second though. Then, I began to think, "Boy, that's kinda weird" and yet it still didn't click.
This stage is very, very frustrating! But you'll get through it, good luck!

I've noticed that in the waking world, I can also suddenly become 'lucid', like in a dream.
Often my mind is lazy and fiddling around, accepting everything around me without question.
Then suddenly that flash of self-awareness kicks in, just as it is when you realise you're dreaming.
The thing is - in dreams that 'flash' doesn't seem to come as readily as in waking life :?
Tibetan dream yogis apparently teach themselves to be self-aware at all times. Apparently they can do this so well, that they can go through an entire night of sleeping and stay conscious through it all :shock:

Awareness is really fascinating when you have those moments of ‘lucidity’, that instant flash of clarity and you suddenly realise WOW I’m dreaming....
Those moments when you perceive reality as a dream are remarkable.

Yeah, those awareness flashes rock. Im gettin them more often myself as well, especially during the weekend, cuz during the week im almost never self-aware, cuz I have to use my whole concentration on classes and study, but on weekends Im usually a lot more aware, so it seems to splash over into my dreams.
Last weekend I had two LDs just because I suddenly became aware of the situation around me. It was quite amazing.
I wish I could have those awareness flashes more often. I agree with Mystical Journey, as you put it very well Placebo. I find that I myself spend most of the time "accepting everything around me without a question" and I tend to realize inmediately and I do an "awareness check" and I make sure I know who I am, where I am, why Im there and how I got there.

I know how you feel. Last night I dreamt my dad and my neighbour were in my garage trying to catch a cat in a plastic bag. And in the house a girl was holding a party for people wearing green. You're not the only one who remains oblivious. :shakehead2:
Interestingly, a little later, I had a FA in which I recorded details of the dream in a journal. However, I remember writing down the name of a friend who I have no memory of appearing in the dream. Mad, eh?
Very very normal...I see a car flying and I don't realize it's a dream. >_> Lol. But sometimes my nightmares triggers my LDs. :D It's hard to realize stuff in your dreams...
