[HELP]First Lucid dream, Or was it?

      Dream log 2013-04-17:
"I am highly unsure if this was a lucid dream. I was lying in my bed with closed eyes and something did not feel right,
I had my suspicions and i opened my eyes. I saw a blue wall with white spirals, i could not believe it so i performed a reality
check(finger in hand). It was weird it morphed into the center of my hand, and i had to put pressure in the middle of my hand nowhere else(like sides didnt work).
During this whole experience i felt a vibrating & rotating sensation. I get out of my bed. ##Cant remember##

Im outside the house(still lucid..) on the street but its different with office buildings and stuff.
"I thought, Sh** I should try something!"
I jumped and tried to fly but i just land, like a normal jump. Then everything fades as if im fainting.

I felt highly disconnected during the dream, as if i barely thought on my own.

Could this have been a low layer lucid?" < End of journal

Thats my dream journal and as said the question is if it was a lucid or not.
I feel that this is an acomplishment either way. Amazing dream.

If you were aware that you were dreaming, even for a split second, then it was lucid dream, and it sounds like you were, so congrats on the first lucid!
I believe there are no 'layers' of lucidity though, but there are levels of awareness, which affect quality of both non-lucid and lucid dreams.
As for why you felt disconnected, it might be lack of control, or lack of waking life memory, dream control will improve with practice and you can also check out this tutorial: Dream Control Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views , and if you have trouble remembering waking life memories in the lucid dream, i had the same problem when i was starting out and here's the solution i figured out: try writing/typing them somewhere right before going to sleep and/or using them as mantra.

Thank you for the reply, i have done some research and i think it depends more on my dream recall and such.
As for dream control, i think that might be an issue, i will do some research on that.
Layers isnt layers of dreams it is the layer in which you perceive the dream to me, as in different sectors of the brain(logic, bl).

I have now had my very very first DILD!

i agree with checker , layes in lucids to me dont exist, if your dreaming and aware you should celebrate it was a lucid even without control.
ive had lucids where i can fully control 1 aspect of the dream then suddenly have no control of another,

also trying to fly on your first lucid was where you 'might' have gone wrong it takes some people alot of work to grasp flying in LD, i sometimes have no problems and others i cant do it at all but thats just something you can experiment with next time
if your interested in flying ide definately check out this thread tutorial its pretty good Dream Flying Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

      well done and good luck
