Paralysis demons, why you here?? Any thoughts?

So I have been thinking, though I have had quite a lot of lucids, I have never succeeded in WILD's nor have I ever experienced sleep paralysis. I HAVE heard my brother counting down "5..4..3..2..1.." in a really creepy voice when I was waking up and already had opened my eyes:disconcerted:.That is the only kind of weird experience i had.

But what I am thinking about is, why do almost every person who enters/experience sleep paralysis sees or hears these evil entities, demons, etc.? whatever it is, it's almost always scary and frightens the hell out of somebody. Is it because of hearing stories from other people so that you just auto-suggested they would be there, or is just the 'normal' thing to happen with sleep paralysis? I mean why would your subconscious come up with all of these evil things? Why not a cute little pony? Is it because the fear, feeling you get when you experience the paralysis automatically creates these things linked to these emotions?

I would rather not ever experience this demonic entity standing next to my bed, but it just got me thinking reading some of the people's experiences on the forum.

Any thoughts? :)

First of all, during WILDing, you are most likely not experiencing SP (paralysis), rather HH - hallucination.

If you are frightful when WILDing, it's very likely to have a scary experience. Once you start seing things, you are in a place, where things are all created and fueled by imagination and feelings. It's natural to be scared when attempting something so new, especially after reading all these horror storries.

Out of my couple hundreds of attempts and 50 WILDs, I have never had a scary experience. But I go to great length to not WILD while scared or spooked. If you tell yourself conciously, during day, and you understand that all that is not real, and it's fueled only by your thoughts, it's easier to stay calm. Go into WILDing while having happy thoughts. If you have a favorite happy place, nice vacation memory, place that you would like to visit, imagine that when you lay down. Keep that thought, together with I'm not scared, I love you all.

I've had SP since I could remember, and I do recall being intensely frightened, I was a little kid, and I think too emotionally immature to understand what was happening so reacted in fear. When I asked my parents about it, my mom said it was evil/demon and I had to pray it away.:roll: Being 5yo, hearing that naturally intensified my fear of the SPs. Years later, I learned that I could control it(SPs as well as the HH), what some of my SP triggers were, and if I stayed calm rather than react in fear, it would change the nature of my experience.

So imho, I wouldn't say that one's subconscious comes up with all these evil things, but one's consciousness places the label of evil on the unknown/mysterious/unfamiliar manifestations of one's own mind. It's like how things can look scary at night, but turn on a light and that ominous figure standing in the corner is really a coat rack, or something silly like that. Those scary SPs are like coat racks. :D or whatever.:P

I confirm that it is quite possible to lucid dream without any demons. In fact, once you become proficient at LD one of its great advantages is that you can know that nothing can harm you in your dream or once you are entering the dream, so you will have fewer scary experiences, not more.
