Found my Dream Guide but Lost Control Lucid

Last night I became lucid, it was really short but I think it was because I found out in the middle of my dream. Anyway, I was walking up these stairs. I wasn't lucid until I heard myself saying "I'm dreaming" then I was gaining control. I told myself "I am dreaming, this is a dream" and continued up the stairs, I was super excited(I haven't became lucid for a very long time so of course I was excited) but I had to calm down or I could wake up. I remembered reading that if you feel yourself slipping away then rub your palms together and say "I am dreaming" and I did it, it worked! I was surprised. Then I wanted to find my dream guide, I read how amazing dream guides are(how they are your subconscious?) and how they give you advice so I tried to call out to it. I shouted, "I would like to see my dream guide!" for awhile nothing happened then I felt a presents just came behind me, I turn around and there she was! She looked about my age, tan-colored skin, dark brown eyes(her eyes were intense so she was wearing eyeliner around her inner eyes) and dark hair in a braid. "Are you my dream guide?" I asked and she smiled, excited. She answers, "Yes I am!" and jumps with joy. I felt so happy and I could tell she was as well. She grabs my hand and tugs at it, I knew she wanted me to follow her, I rubbed my palms again to stay in control then as we walked side by side. I turned to her, I felt sorry for some reason. I felt that I should apologize to her for dealing with me so i did and she just smiled, she didn't say anything but I felt that she didn't mind and understood how I felt. She led me to this room with a big mattress on the floor, playfully I jumped on the mattress and asked her to join me. Then I lost control and went on dreaming non-lucid. I didn't see her at all after that. Did I mess up? Why did she leave?

When it comes to finding our dream guides or us having faith in our unconscious and subconscious being able to formulate or create one for us and them actually being that higher aspect of ourselves that expresses a countenance of confidence and stability that we want to strive for, our interpretations of them will be subjective. Based on the lack of evidence with everyone having a "dream guide" or even a "guardian angel" being true, it ends up just being experiential truths to the dreamer themselves. So when you hear about how amazing dream guides are, they are just ways, or conduits where aspects of our minds can really shine. So when you found her not really saying much and does indirect gestures (holding and tugging your hand), they tend to do that so that you as a dreamer just follows along.

So as you felt the tugging of her hand, your overwhelming sense of joy of what can be in store for you and your dream guide/higher aspect of yourself/etc., I guess that's where the dreaming stability slowly started to crumble. But because you now made an attachment towards her visual appeal (i.e. the eyeliner that automatically makes us allured to their beauty and such), you should take that as something as a basis in your next attempts. You weren't doing anything wrong, and whatever reasons she had for leaving, it will come down to you asking her again.

As for the mattress itself, it has many meanings to it, but seeing how the dream plot is in your original post, it's probably related to your support system, or your mind being able to create someone that can express unconditional love to you. Maybe it's a sign that you should embrace that type of wonder our mind can give us, or it could be many underlying meanings. If you want her to be your dream guide, she can be that. For me, I went through countless dream characters that claimed to be my DG, and each time, I had the similar feelings of feeling excited on what's in store for me and my dream guide/higher aspect of myself/thought-form in my head/etc.

They can be as sentient and sapient as much as you want them to be, your faith in them, and them being conduits with communicating with aspects of yourself better is an experience you have to go through yourself. So if you feel a bit bad on the ending of your dream, just use it as looking forward to meeting her again. The more you make predispositions and habits of acknowledging them more, they will become someone dear to you, and you have every right to link yourself towards tapping into the unconditional love your mind can give you.

Other than that, keep at it, and never be afraid to ask her questions and continue appreciating what your mind can create for you. You should especially ask her ways on controlling your stability in dreams more, seeing how the direct approach is typically the best approach.
