My first lucid dream!!!
So I set my alarm to wake up 5hours after I fell asleep to attempt a wild. When the alarm went off I turned it off and said forget it and went back to sleep. Then I had a long normal dream about airsoft and we had to camp in houses and sleep after the war which took place at night. And for some reason I just kept parachuting down back into the town that afternoon and kept looking at houses. And the only thing on me was my phone and in my dream I was always loosing it and then finding it. So I landed in my parachute and went to check out a house because it looked cool but the stairs to the door was very high and I had to climb. Then I though where is my phone!! So I looked up and it was sitting on the roof about 2 ft above me and I said how did it get there and then it hit me that I was dreaming!!! so I started walking down the driveway saying out loud over and over that I was having a lucid dream. I came to a ledge and decided to spin around and change my setting so I imagined a beach that I would go to and when I opened my eyes I saw the beach in a flash and the woke up. But here is the weird thing, I woke up in one of the houses in the town from my dream greeted by my mom who I haven't seen in about a month. She showed me around the house which was a weird looking house with only 3 rooms. And when she was done i started to tell her that I just woke up from a lucid dream she wanted me to remind her what exactly that was and when I started to explain it I woke up back to reality in my grandmas house on vacation 1,500 miles away from my mom. Has anyone else ever had a dream like this. And should the first thing you do in a lucid dream be trying to figure out where exactly you are in real life so that does not happen?

Congrats. I'm guessing phones are your dream signs? Anyways what you experienced was a false awakening. They are quite common and, yes, always question reality and always reality check when you wake up. Happy dreaming.

Congratulations! :D Yes, I have had a similar dream just this morning. I thought that I woke up from my lucid dream, but I was actually still dreaming. (So yes... You should always try to be aware of your surroundings so that something like this won't happen again. Too bad that I forgot it this morning :P ) When I start having a lucid dream I usually know where I am because in the lucid dreams I have had so far I always evaluated my surroundings before becoming lucid... So bascially I check where I am, but if it's just a place that I have never encountered before I try to figure out what it might mean or why this place looks this way.
Sweet dreams.

Congrats on first lucid dream! :goodjob2:
Like everyone else said, false awakenings can happen and that's why we are doing reality checks every time we wake up. :)
