      My first controlled lucid dream

Two nights ago, I had my first controlled lucid dream. I've been aware that I was dreaming in past dreams but I was never able to control them. This time, however, I was finally able to control my dream. It was so exciting! The dream was the last of a string of dreams I had that night. (I usually have about 5 or 6 dreams a night.)

I made two attempts at achieving lucidity. My first attempt somewhat worked. I saw Demi Lovato, my dream sign, at my school and realized I was dreaming, but being the novice I am, I got overly excited and made the dream end. I woke up and slowly opened my eyes to make sure I wasn't still in my dream. After a few seconds of using just my eyes to look around, I fell back asleep. I entered the same dream I was in and tried once more. I located my dream sign, realized I was dreaming, and calmed down. I closely observed my hands and yelled out "Stabilize now!" and "Clarity!". I yelled these a few more times while observing my hands and when I looked up, everything was clear! A weird thing that happened while I was trying to stabilize my dream and make it clear was my brother bothering and sticking his hands in front of me to mess me up. Gladly, his attempt didn't work. I was able to roam around in my dream for probably an hour and a half to two hours dream time, occasionally having to re-observe my hands and shout stabilize and clarity.

I had a couple of problems. One problem was making objects appear. The first object was flashcards I was trying to give to a little girl to make her leave me alone. Instead, I made yugioh cards appear. The second object was a yellow jeep. I couldn't make it appear at first, but when I was able to, it was a black jeep instead of a yellow one. The third object was a sniper rubber band gun. (Some DCs and I were having a rubber band gun fight.) Instead I ended up creating a super long distance shotgun. Not that I'm complaining...

Also, I feel like I wasn't completely lucid. I knew I was dreaming and I knew I could alter my dream, but I feel like I didn't completely realize that I had control over the DCs as well. When DCs spoke to me I felt like I had to listen to what they had to say I didn't realize I could just leave. I also didn't fully realize that I could get rid of that entire setting and just go somewhere else. Has anyone else experienced this semi-lucidity?

Anyway, if you've made it this far into this post, I thank you! I hope I can experience a controlled fully lucid dream soon.

      First of all congratulations!

Second of all, this was definitely not a semi-lucid dream. You had good control, and your awareness was pretty good, too. Yes, you did not have full control and full awareness, but full control and full awareness are advanced, and most lucid dreams have only partial control and partial awareness. You can now work on improving your control and awareness, so that in future dreams you will have even more. However, this really was quite good, and you should not self criticize this experience because it does not deserve that.
You may say I'm a dreamer.

Wow nice job! One to two hours of dream time?? Thats incredibly long for a first lucid dream, even for adept lucid dreamers. Its interesting how time passes differently for all of us in our dreams... But great job, and nice job clarifying; thats hugely important. Too often beginners forget to stabilize and then lose their dreams because of it. Sounds like you're off to a good start.
