Recently I had a rather powerful dream experience that I shared with Seeker over YIM. At first, I wasn’t going to post it here because it exhausted me just talking about it, but I realized (duh) that I could just paste it from our message log.
ellifayne: I had a dream last night
ellifayne: Lucid, I suppose, but it was like I was riding in someone else's mind
ellifayne: Make sense?
seeker_ld: not sure I follow...
ellifayne: Well, I could see through her eyes, hear through her ears, and feel what she was feeling.
seeker_ld: kind of in there with them?
ellifayne: But I wasn't her, I was still me
ellifayne: Yeah, like I was just watching stuff
ellifayne: I couldn't control the dream, or do anything at all except watch and feel and hear and stuff
seeker_ld: cool, was this someone you know?
ellifayne: No. I don't even think she was human.
seeker_ld: elven?
ellifayne: The people I saw were human-like, but their limbs were a bit longer, and their heads a bit bigger
ellifayne: No, not elven
seeker_ld: hairy or normal amount of hair
ellifayne: A little bit less hair.
ellifayne: They had big foreheads
ellifayne: And I swear they had three eyes, but I can't be sure.
ellifayne: When I looked at them, I was looking through her eyes, so they seemed perfectly normal
seeker_ld: sounds like some kind of futuristic human form
seeker_ld: sun-eye maybe?
ellifayne: Sun-eye?
seeker_ld: the third chakra, linked to psychic ability
ellifayne: Ahh, I see now
ellifayne: Possibly... I didn't sense any real telepathy from her though. Other than the fact that I was in her head, that is.
ellifayne: I saw things from her life... that poor girl...
ellifayne: Through her eyes, too!
seeker_ld: Hmmm..
seeker_ld: you've had your share of pain, could you help her in hers any?
ellifayne: I don't know... I tried to talk to her, but I don't know if she heard me or not
seeker_ld: I rarely have any cool dreams like that
ellifayne: There were a few times where she was in such despair... I've felt those same things, and I tried to comfort her, but I don't know if she heard me or not.
seeker_ld: most of yours seem to have a deeper meaning
ellifayne: She was very, very poor, and lived in this yucky shack that was all falling apart and stuff
ellifayne: And she had a younger sister... flash forward a bit, then her parents told her that her mother was pregnant
ellifayne: She was worried because that would be one more mouth to feed
ellifayne: The baby came and there were complications
ellifayne: I didn't understand what they were, but it didn't look good for the little guy
ellifayne: The mother passed away a couple years later, from some sort of drug overdose... I remember the father explaining to me (her) about some sort of birth control, and for some reason
seeker_ld: I’m listening, more?
ellifayne: I immediately thought "cocaine". And the girl said aloud "Cocaine?" The father was distraught. He kept saying over and over "what was I thinking" and the girl was so angry with him.
ellifayne: She actually hit him, because she felt he'd killed her mother.
ellifayne: Flash forward a little bit more... the father... something was wrong with him. Drugs, maybe? He had the symptoms. The girl was trying to take care of her sister and brother (who was about two I guess and still not in good shape), all while living in that dump of a shack
ellifayne: and she had to walk such a long way to get to school (she walked with her sister). She was made fun of a lot there, because she was so poor and couldn't bathe often.
ellifayne: She liked movies
ellifayne: I remember that. It was something akin to our drive-in theatres, only more like an amphitheatre with a big screen. It was outside. I remember that much. She used to climb the fence and sit there to watch the movies
seeker_ld: what kind of movies?
ellifayne: Or whatever they were
seeker_ld: or whatever they were?
ellifayne: This one was about some sort of creature.. it was like a blue horse with a fish tail and horns. It reminded me of "Finding Nemo" in a way.
ellifayne: It was animated.
ellifayne: She liked the movies because it allowed her to escape for a couple of hours.
ellifayne: And the owners didn't mind at first, but eventually they kicked her out for sitting on the fence because she wasn't paying them.
ellifayne: Flash forward slightly... I remember her brother dying. She was so upset because she'd tried so hard to take care of him.
ellifayne: The sister ran away, I think, because she had disappeared at that point, and I sensed a lot of worry in the girl
ellifayne: The father was truly fucked up (sorry) and the girl was almost at her wit's end. She went into their (bathroom?) and cried. That's when I tried to talk to her... I don't know if she heard me or not.
ellifayne: But she dried her tears, took a deep breath, and got up. She walked a long ways until she got to a road and another barn-looking house.
seeker_ld: this is getting eerie...
ellifayne: There were men in that house, alchemists of some sort. I think they were the ones that got her mother, and then her father, hooked on whatever drug it was.
ellifayne: She was only a teenager at this point, but she confronted them. The father, unbeknownst to her (but I knew...) had followed her there.
ellifayne: The men got angry and shot her. I didn't see with what. It happened to fast.
seeker_ld: did she live?
ellifayne: She stumbled out into the snow, where her father found her and helped her to her feet. I remember seeing dark red spots in the snow, and it was so unreal. The father dragged her with him, through the snow, to a road that led to the city.
ellifayne: That's where she finally fell. And I don't know, but I think she died because I was looking at her from the third person when I saw her fall in the snow.
ellifayne: Like I had left the viewer's chair in her mind.
ellifayne: When she fell, I didn't see it through her eyes is what I mean.
seeker_ld: what happened next?
ellifayne: I remember seeing the father, kneeling in the snow, crying over his dead daughter, his lost daughter, and his lost son.
ellifayne: It was so sad.
ellifayne: And I cried too
ellifayne: When I was looking through the girl's eyes, all I could feel for him was whatever she felt--which was mostly anger.
ellifayne: And hurt
ellifayne: But at that point, I could see him as something else... he was lost, too.
ellifayne: I remember seeing a car... not a car like we know, but some sort of vehicle that had wheels (or what looked like wheels). They drove by, and the man pleaded for help, but they didn't stop
ellifayne: No one wanted to associate with him or his family because they were poor
ellifayne: It was so sad
seeker_ld: Oh, you feel so deeply!
seeker_ld: No wonder things get the better of you sometimes..
ellifayne: It didn't seem like a dream, though
seeker_ld: Are you going to share that one on DV?
ellifayne: It really didn't. Like I said, I was seeing through her eyes, and feeling her feelings, but I still had my sense of self, even though she wasn't aware of me.
ellifayne: I might, if I have the energy to type it all again.
ellifayne: Sorry about that. It just kept coming out.
