My first lucid :)

So tonight I had my first lucid, and needless to say it was awesome. Sadly, since it was my first one I didn't have that much experience controlling. I was on a hotel balcony arguing with a girl, and I knew what I was saying but I just tried stop my brain from thinking "I'm in a dream". I tried rubbing my hands and spinning around and it did work by making the dream clearer. It was so cool and weird considering I didn't even try any of the techniques. I have been doing reality checks with my hands for the past week now if that is supposed to do anything. Anyways, I hope to have more and to be able to have a little more control rather than talking and walking.

Well, the reality checks you have been practicing ARE a technique. And you have also been questioning your reality, because that and RCs go hand in hand. They are part of MILD and DILD. So yes, they suppose to AND they do something. They got you lucid, you didn't become lucid just out of the blue.

So you are on the right track. Little more practice and you will get skilled in more control. Although there was nothing wrong with walking and talking. And your stabilization techniques worked as well. Well done!

As for reality checks, as gab said, they indeed did helped. Doing reality checks in waking life increases your awareness and sets questioning mindset, and that awareness and mindset got you lucid! :)
