Sleep paralysis experience

Hi, I would like to share an experience I had a week ago.

I woke up and imidiately felt that I was in a state to easily go into REM so I layed still. The paralysis came on me really quickly and usually I'm used to this so I wouldn't get uncomfortable but I've recently moved into a new place and I'm not used to the sleeping environment so it felt a little uncomfortable.

Anyway, I started feeling something grabbing my hands and at this point I felt very conscious, actually fully mentally conscious but my body was asleep and it was like two very soft hands put their hands in mine and shortly after, I felt a vibration start in my thyroid(throat) and as I drifted more into unconsciousness, I started to feel a presence in the room. A female presence that was holding my hands and somehow making my thyroids vibrate. It felt healing and then it became really really intense, like, the feeling was very physical in my thyroid and it was almost hurting because it was vibrating so intensely. and this came in pulses, like, beams of vibration that were extremely intense. At that point, it became too much for me and I aborted the state.

Have anyone had similar experiences? do you think I shouldve let it be? I'm not sure I could at that point but it would be interesting to know what would have happened after that...

Sleep paralysis terrifies me. Whenever it happens, I, too, become aware of other presences in the room. If anything, it rarely leads to a lucid dream experience for me. Instead, I start to lose contact with my body, which really scares me because I feel like someone or something else is just waiting for me to do that. It feels a bit like walking away from your car in a bad neighborhood with the keys in the ignition and the driver's door open. That's when I struggle to abort. If I don't fight to break it, I start to drift up out of my body, and I don't like it.

I do like it :) Just go with it and have a good adventure. You'll pop back in safe and sound when it's over. I found myself struggling to get out once, raised my hand up and called for help and felt a hand grab on to mine and help pull me the rest of the way out (or in depending how you view it.) You will get used to the various phenomena like the vibrations, feeling a presence, hearing voices or sounds, music, floating, rolling, tumbling etc etc etc and hopefully at some point you'll feel the same way I do and welcome it happily each time. There's definitely some very odd things that can happen during a WILD transition.

Draban, It seems like you suspect that your SP could have been different due to your new surrounding and being uncomfortable. I think most people on this forum would agree that you have nothing to fear (assuming no one broke into your house). My theory is that your dreaming mind will make up a scenario to explain the HI/HH you are feeling...so I think since you are "usually used to this" that this SP scenario could have been due to your uncomfortable surroundings. Some people always get scary stuff with it, but everyone seems to see something different whether it is a wolf, ghost, dark figure, rapist, alien, whatever your mind comes up with to explain why you can't move. It seems neat that you took the vibrations and scenario to be a healing scenario...had the potential to be nice & positive! One time I had a dark figure over me and just imagined it was Victoria's secret model I had seen on tv and, voila!

When I was younger and had roommates, they would occasionally notice me struggling in this state in the real world. They eventually learned to come touch me and snap me out of it. (The real touch created a real-world sensation I could latch on to and pull back in on.) I remember at least once complaining, "What took you so long! Oh my God, that was awful!" That very same roommate, never understanding what the hell was wrong with me, slept over at my parents' house one night. Then it was him that came to wake me up at 3:00 a.m. or so with wild eyes. "They got me! They held me down! I'm sleeping in here with you now!" And then he understand my terror.

More recently I tried to relax into it once when I was in a fighting kind of mood. It almost never happens anymore, and I wanted to confront whatever was paralyzing me. But the more I relaxed, the more I just dozed off back to sleep, feeling as if I were comfortable under some enormously heavy blankets. That, I don't mind so much, but if I start floating, I'm done.

I also have quite intense vibrations in SP some times. But there is absolutely nothing to fear. Whenever I hallucinate in SP and feel vibrations I simply remember that they stem from me having one leg in the dream world so to speak. In my experience the more I regard the hallucinations as "real" (of course I know they are not real) the quicker I enter the dream world. Your experience does sound creepy though.
