I do not know what I experienced

This afternoon, I fell into what I felt was the start of a sleeping paralysis experience. I dont get them often, but sometimes they happen. This time was different. Usually I feel terror and have awful auditory and visual hallucinations. This time it was of peace and comfort. I had these visions and I could mentally walk through them at will and move and think at will like a lucid dream (never have had one at this power). Those were neat to experience, but I had someone or, some THING, talk to me. Ive been going through some inner turmoil with some negative emotions this past month and a half. This female, sounded like an alien, or a woman with a raspy voice and said, "You will never be everything to all things, Erin, but for now, you must rise, and never let that leave you." What is this? Is this an angel? A being? Myself? Never have I ever encountered this. Please help and explain.

I think one thing to keep in mind might be that whether or not it was your 'angel,' 'god,' 'teacher,' 'channeled entity,' etc...it is (and always will be) YOU in the end.

It's simply another you that exists on a higher plane and is reflecting back to you in the form/words of a borrowed other.

Your other selves often instigate a voice or image that will be soothing to your physical self to help the communication come across smoothly and without fear.

At least that is what I believe.

I'm happy for you that the disturbing hallucinations (and what is the difference between a hallucination and a vision, really?) have ended.
Perhaps this new calm, relaxing experience will now replace your occasional bouts with paralysis and the negative feelings that come with them. :)

Whatever it was/is, Im just trying to make sense of it and trying to decipher what it applies to in my waking life. I also felt like it was directed into my ear, (because I was leaning on my right ear into a pillow), it came from my left ear, like I was "visited". I might add, that the voice was technically not soothing, but the experience was. I had a confusion, because it was not angelic, and yet not demonic. It had a low raspy alien like tone, but not yet evil. I had woke up because I was not prepared for a message from a demon (coming from the sleeping paralysis point of view like I have had in the past) I was not sure if I should open up to be able to receive this message in case it was disguised as an attack. So this is where I am confused. I only hope that it returns so that I can fully receive it.

If you have big concerns about demons and negative-energy-auras, you might consider following some steps that can ease your mind.

Before sleep, meditation or OBE / astral travel work.

1 - Give your spirit guide (which exists) a name; or just say "Hi, spirit guide." :)

"Please protect me and guide me safely through any situations and contacts I may encounter."

2 - For more advanced "trips" and plans that involve extensive lengths out of the body and/or particular goals, you might consider something a little more intense in terms of a safety precaution.

Find a circumference where you can completely encircle your resting place. If your resting place is simply a Lazy-boy chair in the center of the living room, you won't have to go far. Most people want to encircle their entire home, so they end up walking the street, or around the edges of their property line.

If you're already good at visualization - then you're ready. If not, you need to practice focusing on simple shapes (IE; triangle inside a square) with multi-colors. Basically stare at them and on occasion begin to close your eyes and see the imprint left in your vision field. Repeat this until you can clearly see these images without any prompting at all.

Choose your route around your resting space. Invoke your spirit guide with kind words and assistance in making your body safe and your soul safe to travel.
Begin walking around your resting place and imagine a large beam of protective light emanating from your body and upward, over your resting place.
As you walk, the beam of safe light is continuing to cascade up and out of your head, into the air and bending slowly and gently until it meets (all other beams) in a brilliant mesh of silver/white light.
This meeting of beams forms an orb of protective, glowing white/silver light directly over your resting place.
(You must be able to see this image(s) very clearly in your mind's eye.
After you have gone around your resting place and covered the "walls" and "ceiling" with this magnificent shield designed for your own safety, you may do a further walk around checking for weak areas and holes that you can fix.
The orb directly over your resting place is now the fulcrum of the energy and you are free to just observe it.

Finally (if you wish) you may walk around yet again and place a "gate-keeper" at all 4 directional points. There are no limitations here. Common choices might be; tigers, gargoyles, elephants, guards, etc. Whatever makes you feel safe.

I don't like to hear about anyone experiencing fear in any way shape or form with these types of things, when it really is just a matter of taking control, and not letting go. ;)

I will try this. I need this escape. I hope this comes to me again with the help you have given me. I will try my best to have such experiences. I have felt a new sense of self in the past while, maybe this is something I am ready for.
