Near-successful WILD attempt, along with a lucid dream beforehand.

Last night was, well, eventful to say the least. I had set an alarm for early in the morning, long before the time I had to get up to get ready for the day. Before the time I woke up, I was in a dream that was interesting. I was in my school's gymnasium, and had a teacher to help me have a lucid dream. The next thing I know, I'm in a bowling alley, and a girl is there saying, "Hi, welcome to your lucid dream!" I then knew I was dreaming, and got excited. Because of this, the dream ended; however, I was still asleep and simply went into a non-lucid dream. This is something that I find very interesting, honestly. I didn't even perform a reality check; I somehow knew I was in a dream, then and there.

When I woke up to perform the WILD, I went to the bathroom, came back to turn down the TV, and lid in bed on my back. From there, I closed my eyes, relaxed my body, and began to breathe slowly. After a few minutes, the process began. I felt some parts of my body become uncomfortable, but didn't act upon the feelings. When I needed to swallow, I let the instinct take it's course and it did not interfere at all. I began to feel my body become more heavy, starting at my feet. Eventually, my feet, hands, arms and legs lost their feeling and I could only sense their weight. I had also began to feel my stomach region become heavy, and I soon became completely paralyzed. Since I had known this would occur, I didn't panic at all; to be honest, I absolutely loved it! It was amazing to feel the weight of my body. A couple of minutes after this, I began to feel my body vibrate. I still watched my breathing.
Unfortunately, this did not fully go as planned. Although I had gone through the process, I had not had a lucid dream. However, I do remember being in that state and feeling for, well, the next hour. It's strange, too, because it honestly felt like only twenty minutes. I'm leaning towards the possibility that I WAS asleep, and my consciousness was activated, but I didn't open my eyes. I've read before that sometimes opening your eyes when you see black enables you to open your dream eyes? Someone should confirm this for me, because if so, then it's the explanation for why I didn't have a dream. However, when I did get up later, it felt just like I was in a dream. Yet, the reality checks told me otherwise.

All in all, last night was fascinating. I'm going to try the WILD technique again sometime soon. Wish me luck!
