I haven't got my first LD on the sites DJ unfortunately, so I will give the rundown. This was about 3 days after I first started trying to get lucid.
I was at school waiting around outside, possibly for a sports day, and I ended up walking into a building. As soon as I walked through the door, however, the room turned into a blank white space that stretched infinitely in all directions. I thought to myself I must be dreaming, so I did the hand reality check and lo and behold my finger slid right through my hand. I got super excited, and threw a fireball out of my right hand, followed by a lightning bolt out of my left, skyrim style haha. I marveled at how real the dream felt, like many others above have, but I got destabilized, felt like an earthquake, and then I woke up... or so I thought! I thought I had woken up and written the dream down in my DJ, told my brother about it and then gone on DV, but it was all a false awakening! I wouldn't have realized either, if I hadn't asked my brother what he thought of my dream and him responding like "...wut". Ahhh good times

Here's what I scribbled down from memory.

      The 12th birthday Incident

      1/28/04

I remember this dream very well even though it was over ten years ago now. It had a huge impact on me. As any kid I was excited so when I woke up early and didn't get my present immediately I went back to sleep. It might have been birthday excitement that kept my brain awake but I went straight into a dreamstate. I knew I was in a dream now so guess what? I tried to turn into a girl because I deal with Gender Dysphoria, But that failed and I was generally confused during the entire incident. I wanted to wake myself up but I couldn't, I believe I cowered in the dream version of my room because I knew this was a dream and I might see some scary things. Two strange things happened like stepping out of my room looking back and my brothers blanket talking to me. Also there was a bike in my room and one of the wheels turned into the tazmainian devil. I remember at the end I started to look for the millenium eye from yugioh so I could wake up? I woke up sometime before that though.

I remembered it well for all these years because it felt like I had passed into another dimension. The twilight zone if you will. As I look back on it I see it as one of the most magical things that Iv'e ever experienced.

I was being chased by a T-rex so I ran inside a small house to hide. To my utter surprise, the T-rex turns itself into a bee, flies inside the house and then transforms back into a T-rex again.

"Well, that's some serious fucking bullshit," I say. "This is obviously a dream."

      Then I wake up.

Of all my lucid dreams, I remember my first one the best, mainly because after tons of practice over 6 months, it felt like I finally earned it.

I'm in my bedroom at home, but I begin to notice that the room looks weird. For one, all of the walls are painted red instead of just the one accent wall. Second, the pantry from my dorm room at college is for some reason in the corner of my room. There's also a TV on top of my dresser, which is currently playing some episode of Psych. "Oh man, I must be dreaming." I take moment to plug my nose to check, and sure enough I can breathe through it.

The first thing I decide to do is try to push my hand through the door. I swing the door out and push my fingers against it, and eventually the wood somewhat melts away under my fingers, allowing my hand to go through it. I get my fingers all the way through, and then pull them out, leaving behind 4 holes where my fingers were. I try to think of what else I want to accomplish, but then I hear footsteps coming up the stairs. I realize it's my dad, and I didn't want him to see me while I'm dreaming, so I lose lucidity. I run into the closet and hide, until I eventually wake up.
"Going through life worrying about the little things is like cooking with motor oil instead of cooking oil. Sure, you can still probably pull it off, but it'll leave a bad taste in your mouth in retrospect." - Me, apparently

A few weeks after learning about lucid dreaming, I dreamed I was in a cabin in the woods. I started to realize that I was dreaming. I looked around the cabin. I floated up to the support beams and sat on them, looking down. Then I remembered that I could change things. I floated back down to the floor, looked over to a bed, and willed a clone of myself to be there. Then I tried to have sex with her. But it was too much change, and it woke me up. I didn't recall the dream until much later in the day while I was watching a play with my grandma. This was about five years ago.

Not sure if this counts.. but it was pitch dark in my room, and I was standing infront of my wardrobe, about to exit my room. Because it was so dark, I put my left hand on the wooden wardrobe door to guide me out of the room. I had but a brief moment to look around my room, and it was all so real.

The only thing that convinced me that this was a lucid dream was that I was standing in the middle of my room for no reason in the middle of the night. And a second later I was back in my bed again. It was an amazing experience and since then I believe in LDing.

My first LD was actually the night after I'd first learned about lucid dreaming. I "woke up" in my bed and suddenly remembered what I'd read about false awakenings, so I tried to read the title of a book on my shelf and sure enough the letters were all mixed up and wonky.
I was so excited that I shot out of bed and yelled "I'm dreaming!", and just as I'd made this shocking realization, the floor turned into goop and everything in my room converged on my face at once, effectively "knocking me out" and waking me up with a jolt.

For a long time I kind of got the impression that my subconscious somehow didn't want me to be lucid. Every time I managed it the dream scene would immediately fade away, or I would wake up before I could stabilize.
Because of that I was discouraged and forgot about it for a years, but have recently started trying again now that I'm studying in Japan.

I had my first LD 2 days ago. 9am I was watching The Nostalgia Critic Exorcist 2 and Doug's first movie review. I was so tired because I had to wake up early so I slept after watching DFM. I was in a dream having sex with someone I know, until I noticed that everything was too weird and not realistic at all and I thought it was a dream, with that I was Lucid. After 1 minute or more I woke up in the same room, same position, same feeling. I got out of bed and noticed that my vision was fucked up, like if my eyes were not synchronized. "Oh shit, Lucid dreaming can affect your physical body, great fucking news" I didn't panic because I thought that panicking wouldn't affect nothing. I was going to get out of my room until the house changed, it was the same house but it looked abandoned, like if it was in a Zombie Apocalypse. "Yeah I'm pretty sure this is still a dream. Calm down Daniel, you are having a lucid dream just don't get excited!" I walked straight to the stairs "what do people do when they are lucid dreaming?", first thing that came to mind was flying, so I jumped and all of a sudden I was floating, "So this is how it feels to float? I can't feel the ground!" I was moving by pushing the walls so I couldn't control my fly, it's like there was no gravity. I woke up, but it was a "futuristic" version of my room, "Is this a dream? This is so real... Is this reality or dream?" But then I saw something floating "Yeah this is a dream... or isn't?". Can't remember after that. I'm doing something on a table still in my futuristic version, my brother appears and greets me, I thought "In real life when I'm scared I can't control my thoughts, and I always imagined if I had mind power I wouldn't be able to control it", my mind(actually me just trying to test myself) thought "Kill me". A knife appears in my brother's right hand and then he walks into my direction. "Oh shit, calm down Daniel, calm down this instant. DO SOMETHING!" and then I thought "Kill yourself". My brother cuts his throat and dies while having some sort of seizure. Then I did some stuff that I won't say here and then my heart starts beating fast because of something I was doing. Woke up. Tried going back but nothing happened. So I spent 2 days reading about Lucid Dreaming and Astral Projection, and also "Gordon Xavier" helped a lot with his videos on youtube. Today I'm going to try: 2 Banana, 1 slice of Cheese, Hemi Sync and reality check(I do one every hour).

I remember when I was 15 yo I have make my first lucid dream and my objective was to have sex with a DC:

I was on a small street, when suddenly I realize that I was dreaming, I push my finger in my hand and I remember it was hurting. I started running and get in a library, I look at the ground and I could see all the detail and texture, all the DC were looking at me as if I was weird. Then I went on the street I saw a girl of my primary school, I took her and we have sex on the ground and people was watching us, I scream get away, but I was boring doing that, so after I wanted to fly, I start running and jump but I re-fall down, I re-try over and over ...

The first LD I could remember was when I was at a fantasy-esque land. I got lucky at that point for gaining lucidity and continued adventuring at my own free will such as asking a goblin for help, floating on a lake and waged fantasy war. When I woke up, I was in awe and continued sleeping hoping to control my dream once more. I got lucky again and managed to LD two times in a row. The second one turned into an erotic dream.

These experiences were the reason I joined this site to hone my skill for this hobby.

My first DILD (it was a complete accident):
I drove to a hotel where I met up with my friend Hannah. We were just sitting on one of the beds talking and I realized that I hadn't actually talked to or seen this girl in a few years and I realized that I was dreaming. I thought it was so cool but for some reason became concerned for my safety and I wanted to make sure the hotel room was locked.

I walked to the hotel door and locked it. I went back and sat on the bed next to Hannah and told her that I was dreaming. I said, in a kind of serious voice, something like: "I'm dreaming right now. I am not actually here. I am asleep, lying in my bed, dreaming." She just smiled, rolled her eyes, and looked at me like she used to when I said something silly.

Knowing that I was lying in bed while simultaneously was having this dream that I was in a hotel room seemed so profound at the time. I experimented a little with it and tried to feel myself lying in bed. Then I could feel myself lying on my back, and I felt the blankets of my own bed while simultaneously having the visual of the hotel room. This dual awareness (of lying in my own bed and being in the hotel room) became too much and I woke up.

Cant remember the whole thing since it was in 2008, but I do remember the scenery. I was in a field of wheat in a beautiful orange/pink/purple sunset. The trees in a distance were borderline jet black and this was in my backyard, which is not that big. I think I was spawning random stuff such as boulders, my ex, and a really big pool.

My first happened last night. In short, I found out my girlfriend was a heroin addict after searching for her to tell her i've finally become lucid. I also practiced a few techniques to stabilise the dream. Read my entry - "first lucid dream - out of nowhere" or something along those lines

Smile My Encounter with a Shadow Person?

This happened more so randomly and unintentional but I'll talk about it.

The most vivid lucid dream I had was after I had awoken and went back to sleep one night. I couldn't distinguish if my eyes were still close or open but, I remember laying on-top my mattress in my room. Everything looked the same, and the placement of a couple of furniture pieces were exactly where they were in the waking world. I sadly couldn't move but I could see with my eyes. I looked over the blackened silhouettes of my computer chair paired with another item and eventually from those black shapes emerged a creature.

Completely black and half my height, shared very similar aspects of the heartless from Kingdom Hearts, particularly the shadows. His hair almost resembled that of a straw hat with a kind of point on top. He had a yellow smiley face logo, similar to the one Impmon from Digimon has, on his chest. He approached me slowly towering me, sporting a wide grin with ground sharp teeth. Through various ways he exploited himself, I knew right away wanted to have sex with me. I wanted to engage in the act with him but again, I couldn't move due to being in a paralyzed state. Eventually before I could do more about it, I was snapped back to the waking world. The perception still did not change from me coming back but the figure vanished from view.

It was disappointing that I couldn't continue on in the moment, and I was ecstatic about it. About meeting someone/something that normally one wouldn't see in this physical world. But I enjoyed the intensity and vividness of the event nevertheless. I also drew a picture of the creature afterwords but I can't find it at the moment, though I could easily create a new one.

My first lucid dream was when I was a kid. It was also one of my longest. I don't remember how I realized I was dreaming but I was in my house the entirety of the dream. I liked the cartoon Fairly Odd Parents at the time and I wished for things to happen like the main character did on the show and they did. I met my imaginary friend and a few other wishes came true. I also remember weird static like dreams in between segments of the dream. When I woke up it was weird because I felt it go from the dream to my body. Its hard to describe.

I was eight years old and suffered from frequent nightmares. I told one of the girls at school about it and she told me that if you close your eyes in a dream then the dream cannot hurt you. She stated it as though it was absolute fact, and I believed it unquestioningly.

I dreamt that I was at my primary school shortly after. There were men in army vehicles driving around with machine guns. They fired at me and I remembered what my friend had told me. I closed my eyes, and sure enough the bullets did not hurt me. But as soon as I did so, I realised that I was dreaming and became lucid. I don't remember what I got up to in the dream after that, but I started to become lucid almost every time I had a nightmare.

I did not think this thread would get so many responses.. And so many truly remarkable experiences!
Once a soul experiences a lucid dream for the first time it gives an entirely new perception to our conscious experience, we all feel an eagerness to tell others about it and for good reason too.
It's like that twilight zone episode where there is the group of people living in the trash can all their lives and finally someone peers out beyond the trash can to the outside world, he must tell of his experience as best he can haha

My first lucid dream was about a month ago.
I did a WILD and my tactic for this was to imagine that I am climbing a rope as I fell asleep. As I was climbing this rope I kept saying to myself "I'm awake, I'm awake, I'm awake" etc.
Eventually this rope brought me up to a tree branch. When I climbed onto the branch I again said "I'm awake". As I moved aside some brush I saw a beautifully built tree house. "I'm awake?" I asked myself... "No, I must be dreaming!" I got excited but knew that I needed to maintain this excitement.
I climbed over to the tree house and saw people inside. They were small. At first they looked like children but then manifested into dolls. I asked them "who are you?"
One of the female dolls responded "we've been living in your head for a long time, you just forgot about us"

This response blew my mind, I started thinking "what could that mean?" As I started thinking this my dream became very unstable.

I immediately looked down at my hands, they were blurry at first and then came into focus. When I looked up I was no longer in a tree house. I was in a back yard. It was light outside, a really beautiful summer day. I'm with three other kids, and they appear to be sneaking into someone's back yard. It's a small back yard and we are hiding behind a shed overlooking someone's deck to a small house. I asked these kids "who are you? What are we doing?" A girl turned around, looked at me and smiled. Her response was "shhhhhhhh". Again I became unstable! I looked down at my hands and they were blurry, I tried to focus them but was unable to maintain focus this time.

      I woke up.

I've had a few dreams similar to this since, but only just last night finally had a lucid dream where I was able to really influence the dream. I finally went flying last night and stopped worrying about what my dream characters thought. Tomorrow I'm leaving for a Vipassana meditation course which is 10 days of meditation, no eye contact or conversations. I'm really hoping that this mindfulness study will help me to be more mindful in my dreams. We aren't aloud to write or keep a journal (I don't think we would get kicked out or even caught, but there's a reason it's a rule so I will abide by it). So I won't be recording my dreams in a journal for 10 days, but I will practice dream recognition on our breaks.

My first lucid dream - aside from a short lucid moment as a child - took place in the back of my childhood backyard. I remember suddenly seeming to be aware as I standing in the backyard will a brilliant blue hue coming from the house and toward the bushes I was standing by. It was such a strange experience I couldn't wrap my head around it at the time. My first instinct was to attempt flight, but it was a bit tough. I did three huge jumps along the bushes, then woke up. I'm still VERY grateful for this dream.

My first lucid dream involved me fishing at a lake on a mountain and I reeled in a shrimp; ecstatic because I don't catch anything IRL , I decided I would use it as bait. However, IRL when I do reality checks I try to do them on the hour but since when I engage in long activities that the hour passes during cause me to forget to do an RC on the hour since I'm too engrossed in the activity, I do a reality check before I engage in the long activity in order to still meet my "RC Quota". So, before fishing for the fish using the shrimp my real life habit of doing an RC before the activity just in case I forgot to do one on the hour in the middle of the activity kicked in and I did a reality check before I started fishing again (the breathing through your blocked-off nose RC) and realised I was dreaming.

My first lucid dream involved me walking down an alleyway on a bright, hot summers day. There was chain fence on my right and buildings on my left. I was walking with my cousin who was on the right.

I was walking, and suddenly a thought hit me-that this could be a dream. I dismissed this at once and continued walking. I decided to do a quick reality check (nose plug) but was absolutely 100% sure that it was not a dream.

To say I was shocked that it was a dream is an understatement!

Then the dream promptly collapsed into blackness and reassembled itself into a lush vegetative landscape. I spent the next few minutes running from a T-rex.

I have had some lucid dreams as a child, but canīt remember them. About a year ago i started to go into lucid dreaming more seriously and had a lucid dream 2 days after practicing.

I woke up in my bed at my fathers house when my dad was leaving for work. He sat down in a chair next to my bed and we talked a bit. Then i noticed something wierd, he had long hair and a different face. It was even the face of Reece Jones.
I didnīt notice, but i thought "dad doesnīt have long hair"?. Then he changed his face again into some odl man from a survivalshow on TV. I still wasnīt completely sure that i was dreaming, so i said to him " I think i might be dreaming".

Then suddenly everything went black and i saw a painting floating in the dark. It was a picture of Jesus on the cross with an angry mob underneath. ( I am not the slightest religious, this is why i find it wierd). And then a floating text appeared who said "JESUS DID NOT DIE FOR YOUR SINS, RENOUNCE GOD". And then i woke up.

It happened a few years ago. Not sure how many though.

I was standing on one of the twin towers of the World Trade Center and I was surrounded by darkness. A sudden bright light hit my face (the source of the light was an airplane in the distance) knocking me off the building. I hit a hard surface, get on to my feet, and RUN!

It was a terrible, terrible dream. When I woke up, I was sobbing.
