Progressive dream story over a length of time (2 years)

It all started in July 2010 (according to my Dream Journal)...

The dream started out with me living an every day dream life. Until I met this dream character at college; we became friends and after a while he invites me to his house. The house is a large gothic period style building. When at his house I meet his family and slowly discover that he and his entire family (big family) are vampires; they aren't 'blood' family but people that joined after they became vampires. After visiting lots and becoming close to the family I visit again; however this time demon hunters invade and attempt to kill the vampires. I was the first to be hit, while I lay on the floor the room becoming dark as I fade away I watch my vampire friends defeat the demon hunters. The next scene is the family talking and arguing, but I cannot hear what it's about... then a female vampire comes over and gives me a choice of whether to die or become one of them and join the family. I decide to join the family and the dream ends shortly after.

This is the first of many dreams of the same theme, characters and storyline. After joining the family we move around and travel in which I discover more about the vampire world. (Note: the world is different an alternate version of earth. mystical beings and races exist). I won't go into depth about all the dreams I've had over the two years since 'joining the family' however the dreams are progressive and go into different storylines as I said.

My question is: does anyone else have progressive dream themes similar to this, where the characters and storyline develop around the same theme and narrative. Over the two years these dreams have been becoming more active, more and more dreams are becoming this storyline. Is this normal?

It's happened to me, but it comes and goes. Enjoy the experience for what it's worth.

It's never happened to me but there's no such thing as a "normal" dream.

Basically to answer your question - as long as you enjoy it and it doesn't bother you - it's good. There are no medical risks here.

      Happy dreaming

Friend i have been having this for 6 years...i would like to talk to you in private if its possible....

I cant say it doesnt bother me..it does...6 years of progressive dreaming is alot !

In the middle of this i saw the hatman in my dream. He was chasing a person, this person after 1 year lost a very very important job.... i interfered and confronted the hatman... but , thats not the point, the point is my progressive dream is dark, and not so far away from vampires ...at all.... weird friend, does your dream occur in a big island ?

Have you ever read Ted Dekker's "Circle Trilogy"? ^_~
Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week; you have a schedule, a calendar... Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures.
A fear of time running out.
