Dreaming in color
I've always heard we don't dream in color, yet me and my mother both report seeing color in our dreams. I wonder if anyone else has these experiences... I would assume that if the classic technique for lucid dreaming (the red ball example I guess) then it's not at all uncommon to experience color in dreams.
Last night I had a strange dream, that was both lucid and colorful...
I was trying to get dressed... Lately, I've gotten into fashion - well, at least matching colors, utilizing patterns and properly accessorizing. (the name on the label means squat to me in other words) I've never really cared much about such things, not due to lack of funds - my interests always lay elsewhere. Back in the day I'd rather go to the bar or buy a sack of weed than worry about such silliness. However the birth of my daughter sparked an intense interest and desire to perfect the feminine art of style. To set a good example I suppose....
Anyways, I was trying to get dressed up. I don't know where I was going or where I was. All I remember is: I was wearing my "wedding dress" (I use the term lightly because it was a white sun dress with a patterned doily type overlay, cost about 20 bucks hah - no regrets here) I was frantically looking for the proper pieces to pull the outfit together. The dress kept changing colors, white then black. I kept trying to find the right shaw, I ended up with both red and pink over the dress (I don't recall what color the dress was then) when I reached lucidity, I remember thinking "well this isn't going to work - pink and red don't go together" I decided the pink would be better for the white - and the red for the black.
I was also trying to incorporate a belt into the whole mix, (I wore a pink one on my wedding day that came with the dress) but kept having troubles getting the dang colors of the dress/shaw to stay the colors I wanted.... Nor could I find the pieces I desired when they weren't changing. The colors didn't change whenever I was looking, I would look down (or in a mirror I presume) and the colors would be different - after spending so much time looking for that "one thing" that would make everything pleasing to the eye.
As per usual shortly after I realized I was dreaming and felt distressed from the frustration (I'm guessing)the dream faded... Just a less extreme - strange dream of mine.
I think it's worth mentioning: A few days before said dream I felt great frustration trying to find a jacket I bought that only really went with one outfit - i wanted to try it out with some clothes I fished out of the back of the closet. However IRL I couldn't find the dang jacket "Things don't just grow legs and walk away" <-I feel like I say that too often<- however... Apparently, this dang jacket has that ability... I wish things didn't disappear, but they usually have a way of turning up.... When you're not actively (or frantically) looking for them. Sometimes all it takes is a little help to "dig up" what you're looking for.
That damn jacket tho... Where you go to?! -.- sometimes I feel like there's a portal into another dimension that likes to eat things when I think I need them - meah

Dreaming in colour is very very common....
I'm pretty sure more people dream in colour than in black and white..
-
I only dream in color. I don't see the real world in black and white, so I guess it is normal
-
I also dream in color . I have only few colorless dreams . Dreams are sometimes close to colorless if are too unstable or in ending of the dream.

I definitely dream in colour. If I'm having a particularly intense lucid dream, sometimes my surroundings look "more realistic" than real life. I once examined the carpet in a dream and I could see even the most minute detail.

Same here, it's pretty much always color (and color is often an important part of my dream plots). I may have had a few black and white scenes here and there, but they would be extremely rare. Since dreams are based on our waking-life experiences, I see no reason one would not dream in color unless they have had no color perception since birth or they watch a lot of black-and-white films and TV shows. :P

I never had a black and white dream, it would be cool lol!
