      Lucid Sex

I don't want to sound like some pervert here but the thought of having sex in a lucid dream is incomparably appealing. I'm still struggling though with just becoming lucid to begin with. I finally got an opportunity the other morning and got into it and it felt so wonderful, but then I woke up when I was just getting started.

Same here man. The more you have them the longer they can last... but for me it's been kind of random. Sometimes I am just incredibly lucid and other times I struggle to keep it going for more than a few moments. Remember to rub your hands or spin. The other day I used Sensei's tip saying to myself "Calm" because I knew I was getting too excited (the woman I was with was gorgeous). It helped keep it going for a little longer.

I noticed that the spinning and stuff like that brings me back to lucidity but only very briefly. Seconds later I'll feel myself coming out of it again. Maybe I just need more practice.

I think one would have to be "perverted" for such a thought not to be appealing . Dream encounters are a fun and safe way to experiment.

It may be good to focus on having solid and stable LDs for a while before attempting sexual encounters. Learn to maintain your lucidity and focus on your environment, all the while reminding yourself that you're in a dream.

Lucid sex can be awesome! You can safely (physically and socially) try anything you want of course. Reading the OP I just thought of a hypothesis on the falsehood that says lucid sex is unstable (NOT TRUE!!).
      • I gather that one of the first things that a lot of people want to try out is sex.
      • It is easier for a beginner to become lucid near the end of REM when you are nearing waking up anyway (this improves with time!), so what do they try?
      • It creates a negative schema/expectation that is spread when people share their experience and others read it reinforcing the negative schema.

More info on avoiding negative schema: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...-read-imo.html

@davethewarrior - are you a veteran or active military? Feel free to send me a PM if so, or if you simply don't want to answer in this thread.

You guys remind me of that dude on some other thread who wasted his lucidity in the search of a condom.

@Elpis: From your description, that person was most likely not lucid. That person may have been lucid initially, but if so, they certainly lost lucidity (forgot that it was all a dream) if they wasted time looking for something that is not needed in a dream scenario. That is unless that was a preset experiment that they had in mind in order to see what it felt like. I don't see how it relates to the comments that you quoted though.?

That is one of the singularly most funny things I've read on DV. Do you have a link to it?
Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week; you have a schedule, a calendar... Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures.
A fear of time running out.
