Speaking to your inner self...

I'm in the middle of reading "Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self" and the other night I had my first lucid dream since starting back up my journal:

I'm laying down in the street on a rainy night outside of the house I grew up in. I hear someone running and am annoyed by the racket they are making so late into the night. At this point, it hits me that I must be dreaming, why else would be here? I didn't do any reality checks - I didn't need to. I begin looking around and notice that everything is picture perfect from how I remembered it.

I then begin to lose focus of the things around me and realize the dream is coming to and end. I ask out loud, "Please provide stability..." Nothing happens. I look into the sky and see a large circular cloud that reminds me of a face. Again, I ask "Please provide clarity..." At this point I can feel the world circling around me, everything around me turns white, and I begin to wonder if I'm going to wake up.

I am then, almost quite literally, dropped into a Movie Theater. I feel myself standing for a split second before dropping into my seat. Someone passes in front of me to get to their seat. I then remember my goal: ask my inner self a question. I'm embarrassed to ask this goal out loud with everyone in the the theater so I decide I should get up and find a quiet place.

I find a quiet place and ask out loud, "What is something important that I should know?" In a booming voice I get a response: "I can't tell you if I'm unable to see you." I take this to mean that I need to be outside. I try racing down the escalator to get outside and ask the question again but unfortunately the dream came to an end..


So after waking up and thinking about it, I made a couple of mistakes I plan to rectify the next time I'm able to become lucid in a dream. Most importantly, I should've asked follow up questions and not paid so much attention to the dream world.
