Entering a dream while being fully conscious

Hello, I am new here, found the forum after months of looking for answers to what has been happening to me the past few months.
I apologize in advance as english is not my first language.

I've always been interested in the subconscious, however I really never paid too much attention to it. I did have lucid dreams before, but not anything like what's been happening to me every now and then lately. I do not really know how to describe it accurately but, i've managed to transition from an awake state, fully aware of being awake into a dream seamlessly, I do not know if this is a known thing or if it has a name as i've not been able to find too anything that describes it as it happened. While awake, after a while, there's this distant buzz sometimes that appears, and every now and then, if I hold to it long enough, knowing i'm awake, I am able to just sink into the subconscious while, being fully aware of this. The transition, feels like my head having a lot of pressure, but its not uncomfortable. I do not know how to explain this any further, if anyone has more info or happened to them i would like to know more.

      Cheers from spain

There are two named phenomena that seem to apply in your case: Wake-induced-lucid-dream (also known as WILD), and astral projection (also known as AP) from the waking state. The difference, or the lack of difference, between these two phenomena is hotly debated. Both are well-described in the pages of DreamViews, and you can read more about them here than you probably want to do.

There is a sub-forum for WILD:

      https://www.dreamviews.com/wake-init...d-dreams-wild/

and we have a sub-forum for experiences "beyond dreaming", which is where a lot of AP discussion goes:

      https://www.dreamviews.com/beyond-dreaming/

There is also the phenomenon of Out-of-body-exploration, also known as OBE (sometimes OOBE). This is also discussed in "beyond dreaming", and many would argue that it is a form of AP.

Your description of the "physical" experience of transitioning is not unlike how I would describe my astral projections, but mine always happen from within a dream, during sleep.

Oh, and by the way: welcome to DreamViews!

      Lang and Becko like this.
So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

I would also described this as WILD, same as Voldmer above.
You can find also some nicely written tutorials here (not that you would need them as you can do it practically, but as a confirmation of the thing which is happening to you).

I just wonder - when do you experience this entering into dream? In the time when you go normally to sleep in the evening? Or when you return to sleep after some midnight awakenings?

      Cheers, Petr

If you guys want to talk about Out-of-body-exploration, please do it in the Beyond Dreaming. You guys can debate that over there all you want.

WILD and DILD are two types of lucid dreaming. It sounds like a WILD - Wake Initiated Lucid Dream. Or maintaining awareness while dreaming. (IMO)

The buzzing that you hear and the pressure are probably audio and tactile hallucinations (Sensations and types of entry into WILD)
